So the tax collector earned his salvation by getting on his knees and calling out to God?
and he can boast because he earned his salvation?
Why should I be worried from someone who rejects that Faith to accept Christ is a works, and to continue Believing is a works?

or biblical truth, you think 1 john 1: 8 speaks of only past sins, which it does not even in the english
thats not truth.
You cannot earn Salvation, but you can put forth an ACT of acceptance which is a works.

Augustine: “But I commend not the works of my hands, for I fear that when thou examinest them thou wilt find more faults than merits. This only I say and desire, despise not the works of thy hands. READ the verse!
Christ is the WORKS of God.
We either believe that Christ is God or we don't, that is on us 100%
If you could give scriptures to back up you claim that "satan doesn't know he is sinning".
Aside: I assume Satan is much, much smarter than I, yet even I know I sin. Got to think Satan has figured out whether he has sinned.
Definition of Sin: Anything going against what God commands. Thus, Satan has to know he has disobeyed God and therefore sinned. Now, like some on here, maybe Satan has his own dictionary.

they asked what work they must perform
his reply it is the work of God
John 6
28 Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?”
29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”
If these scriptures didn't exist you would have a valid argument.
1 John 3:6-9 He that abides in him does not sin.
1 John 5:18 Whosoever is born of God does not sin.
That's just a small sample.
No go run to your greek and OSAS apparatus to deny those scriptures.

Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

it says it is the work of God we believe in the one he sent
he teaches,
he draws
he helps us to understand
he convicts
what we do with this is up to us, but it is all gods work
