No, I don't believe that.
We can waste and throw away our time on this Earth and have no treasures in heaven but, we won't lose our salvation - we'll just be miserable while on the Earth and a bit embarrassed when we arrive on the other side.
Yes.
No dear, that is not what I said. Why do you want to frame me in such a dark light? You know I love my Lord Jesus, and you can see how they speak evil of me. They did the same to My Lord. I love them just like you do, else I would not be here speaking to them right now.
Well, not really.....being born again applies to salvation. Whereas, a relationship is what happens AFTER receiving the Gift of Salvation.
Very cute! lol! But, I'm not buying what you're selling......

All a cute little washed piggy can do is return to her mud puddle because her nature never changed - she was never born again into the spiritual nature of Christ.
If you did then you would know that one cannot toss salvation away.
2 Peter 2:22
I am sorry if I took your wording wrong , it just grieves me so deeply that anyone can even think they can lose their gift of Salvation...
I can understand a babe in Christ thinking this way because that is what I thought , until God showed me otherwise , that I was reading Scripture wrong , but I cannot understand those who say they are walking with our Lord for so many years , and still believe they can lose our Lords gift of life to us , it just does not make sense to me...
...xox...
Those verses are dealing with confirmed apostates. Hebrews 6 and 10 is warning of the risk of apostasy. Apostates are not sons BTW. They are enemies of the Cross.2 Peter 2:22
WE WHICH ARE ALIVE AND REMAIN unto the coming of the LORD shall be CHANGED!!!!
Why did the Bible give warning then to believers? Nonbelievers aren’t addressed as they don’t read the Bible.
Obviously you do not understand the word justified and or it's implications.....tragically I might add!Justification is not exclusive to your own little belief system.
Justification is not exclusive to your own little belief system.
Well Sir will you excuse me while I'm having a mini worship session here, hands up and everything. What a bomb, VCO. I wish we could give rep points like in the olden days. What a beautiful post, Scripture after Scripture. It was a bad day, and I really needed something to reset me and set my eyes on God. Great reminder.2 Timothy 1:9 (HCSB)
9 He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.
Ephesians 6:24 (HCSB)
24 Grace be with all who have undying love for our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 11:6 (NASB)
6 But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace.
1 Peter 1:3-5 (HCSB)
3 Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. According to His great mercy, He has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead
4 and into an inheritance that is imperishable, uncorrupted, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.
5 You are being protected by God’s power through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
Romans 11:29 (HCSB)
29 since God’s gracious gifts and calling are irrevocable. (What does irrevocable mean to you?)
Ephesians 2:8-9 (NJB)
8 Because it is by grace that you have been saved, through faith; not by anything of your own, but by a gift from God;
9 not by anything that you have done, so that nobody can claim the credit.
Romans 5:15 (ESV)
15 But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man’s trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many.
Doesn't it BOTHER you that with the statement you just POSTED, Gifts can certainly be lost, you just contradicted these verses and a whole host of other verses ? ? ?
Good night everybody!![]()

Sounds good.Hi DorothyMae, I'm back.......
Let me just establish this........I am a completely rock solid believer in Once Saved Always Saved (OSAS) and I do not judge, condemn or make accusations against others that are not. However, I will contend with them but, not with anger....with love.
The Bible says Peter fell away. Does not say his faith was shaken. Might be so and I don’t deny it but the Bible says Peter denied knowing Jesus for the obvious reason that he didn’t want to suffer as he did. He then went out and wept bitterly because he did not respond as he had said he would. That is what it says. I prefer to stick to the Bible and not make up reasons not given. None of the others did that and Jesus didn’t say he had prayed for the others. I don’t say he didn’t, not it’s a long shot to say he’s praying for all as he prayed for Peter. I do believe he prays for us but if He’s praying no christian falls away from the faith he is praying in vain for some as he knows that some will and he knows why. I can get you verses on this as to what he knowsSo, let's you and I have a peaceful conversation.....
You said:
Jesus never promised he’s praying so you don’t fall away. I know you believe it. Why didn’t he tell ALL of them that he was praying for them equally too?
Jesus did pray for Peter because Jesus knew Peter's faith would be shaken to it's very core when Jesus died and be absent for 3 days. Satan would be testing the faith of Peter.
There is no scripture that says he is praying for everyone that their faith not fail. He didn’t even pray for the others but instead prayed for Peter telling HIM to then strengthen the others. If your position were true he would have said, “and I’m praying also for the others that their faith not fail.” He charged Peter to do this.[/quote]Luke 22:31-34 King James Version (KJV)
31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
33 And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.
34 And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.
Jesus also prays for our faith to not fail - Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. The Gift of Salvation He has given us is secure IN HIM (Christ). Jesus knew Peter would deny Him 3 times yet, Jesus prayed for Peter.
Hebrews 7:25 King James Version (KJV)
25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
Jesus knows our faith is to be tested and He prays for all that are His.
He is able doesn’t mean he ensures. We have our part to play.He is able but that doesn’t mean we are passive. The problem with defining being a believer by the future state of enduring is that you cannot know you are saved today. Those who fail to endure were NEVER saved according to your view. Means they only thought they were saved. Only when you die and know you endured so you know you were saved all along. Do you see the problem? You said:
If all of them knew they would go to heaven no matter if they deny him before others or fail to endure, why were there martyrs? Why endure that horrible suffering when you can simply do whatever your tormentors want as you know you’re saved no matter what? (Jesus actually says he who endures will he saved, but we’ll ignore that warning for now.)
Anyone that does NOT endure simply are NEVER His (Jesus). Even though Peter denied Jesus 3 times, Peter still endured and belonged to Jesus because Jesus prayed that Peter's faith would NOT FAIL. Our salvation is IN CHRIST ALONE - HE IS ABLE TO KEEP US, even when we deny Him.
Jesus said many (true believers) would fall away from the faith failing to endure. Do you need that passage?
Laff, I have to go and get the moving van so will continue later.
Thanks!
Jesus is making intercession for us and will lose NONE that belong to Him.
You asked:
why were there martyrs? Why endure that horrible suffering when you can simply do whatever your tormentors want as you know you’re saved no matter what?
God's plan and purposes......I personally believe martyrs are hand picked by God - God chooses who He wants to give a Martyrs' Crown to, we don't. The prophets have mostly been martyrs. No body really wants to suffer, even Jesus prayed that the cup would be taken away from Him yet, He surrendered to the Father's Will which is what all of us eventually do in our "Garden of Gethsemane"
We deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow Jesus. This can ONLY be done in the power of the Holy Spirit, NOT in our own strength.
Are you trying to keep yourself saved in your own strength?![]()
