But if you want I'll say it again: I don't consider you a genuinely saved person.
Your view of sin is why.

The ones who have crucified the flesh (more and more) are the ones who understand the cross.I have learned that it is people who understand the cross... the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus are the ones who are saved.
The ones that understand all sin was settled at the cross.

You are self righteously walking directly into Matthew 7:21-23. If you want to walk in God’s grace, walk into Luke 18:9-14 in like manner of the tax collector.Walking in righteousness IS God's grace.
You have to stop automatically thinking of one's own self righteousness when someone talks about the Christian walking in righteousness. You are self righteously walking directly into Matthew 7:21-23. If you want to walk in God’s grace, walk into Luke 18:9-14 in like manner of the tax collector.
John 3:16-17That is what true spirituality is and what shows you to be really saved.
By the way, I got justified exactly the way the tax collector got justified. Exactly that way.You are self righteously walking directly into Matthew 7:21-23. If you want to walk in God’s grace, walk into Luke 18:9-14 in like manner of the tax collector.
Don't have time to read those now.John 3:16-17
Romans 10:9-10
Right, I can only go by what you say here. You do not even know my view of sin.
Right, I can only go by what you say here.
And so far, I don't consider you to have come to Christ to be a changed person, just a forgiven one. And 'forgiven' may not even be the right word.
I can't go into detail why, but this is why I don't consider you a saved person.
But I'm not going to beat you up about it.
You need someday to see what salvation through Christ means and lay hold of it.
Freegrace doctrine ain't it.
I state that one is saved by belief.....in God's forgiveness. Apart from the merit of righteous works.
Write that down so you don't forget what I say.
Wow! You literally just demonstrated yourself to be the Pharisee in Luke 18 and yet you’re too blind to see it. Amazing! And scary.Problematic 'Christians' in the church came to God to get a pass on sin, not to be changed from what and who they are.
For as I say, it's one's view on sin that helps me determine if I can consider a person genuinely saved or not.
This is the GOSPEL..................... ceasing from our effort to save ourselves and accepting the gift of salvation, by grace through faith in Christ Jesus.
As has been stated here many times ... and I quote @dcontroversal
"ALL Believers have worked the works of the Heavenly Father in belief and then.....to the ones that WORK NOT, but believeth in Him that justifies the ungodly his FAITH is credited as righteousness......"
@EleventhHour if it helps , I do believe you are a born again child of God.
Jesus says in John 10:14( NIV ): "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me—"
notice the focus on " me, I my," in all his posts.
it shows a person who is focused on self rather than Jesus.
in my daily prayers , I thank Jesus for what He did for us, not what a good person * I * am....
A confession of faith brings salvation.Don't have time to read those now.
What's the point?
That a confession of faith is more spiritual than actually living a changed spiritual life?
By the way, I got justified exactly the way the tax collector got justified. Exactly that way.
That's why it's one of my favorite passages of scripture.
'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’
“I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God."
Luke 18:13-14
The difference between me and the Freegracer (generally speaking) is I came to God not only to be forgiven but to be changed.
Problematic 'Christians' in the church came to God to get a pass on sin, not to be changed from what and who they are.
For as I say, it's one's view on sin that helps me determine if I can consider a person genuinely saved or not.
