Looks like you have difficulty understanding what it was like to be Jewish during the time of Acts. Okay, we can agree to disagree then.

this thread has taken a turn south, and I would not have thought that possible after PS left.
sadly someone worse than him showed up. and people are feeding him, instead of letting him rant and expose his own hypocrisy.

Not sure who mean..... I think the thread is the same....exposing false dogma over time....however there have been some rather strange ideas lately.

people like lightsaber - come in quotes a passage. Demands everyone respond. everyone responds. Yet because he did not get what he wanted insists no one answered him. Baits everyone on to argue, no substance and no resolution possible

people like Ralph - come in, twist the word, twist what people say. Lies about prety much everything, plants the bait, everyone pounces

go back through the thread, fran, ISIT PeterJenz, herosefromthedead ralph aka judges, I can go one and on

then people like John who want to,push their dual gospel heresy and KJV only stuff same old argument every time, demanding we answer him we have so many times I lost count (like lightsaber)

then we have G man, God knows what he says,

there are some people,who,really want t discuss and we have eithe had a good discussion, some even repented., so,there is good in here, just sadly it is tainted by so much nonsense that people can see right through

LOL on someone's payroll... so funny.

I think the problem is that we are sitting with +-66000 denominations in the world today and each one of them "have the truth". We are in the end times and people's opinions will become more important than sound Bible doctrine. The disciples were even fighting amongst themselves when Jesus left... how do we expect to be different 2000 years later?

No, my difficulty is in understanding how anyone can think the Jews aren't dead to the law. They aren't justified (made righteous) by works anymore than we gentiles are.

Somebody recently asked our pastor when he will go into full time ministry and he asked; why? His argument is that every day he is in his ministry even when he is at work.

He is very busy with his ministry. He does a lot of outreaches etc but still runs a successful business that is paying him a salary.

I know another pastor who refuse to work during the day. His job is his ministry but he is not coping financially at all... we suggested that he should maybe try and find a job until his church has grown to support him enough but he refuse to do it.

It is important to remember that a very small portion of the Bible was written by gentiles. Except for one (if I remember correctly) all the authors are Jewish and in that sense if we don’t understand Jewish culture we will not understand everything in the Bible and certain things will be confusing.

Dead to the law is not dead to Torah but dead to Talmud. Today a true Jew will tell you that the Talmud’s laws have a higher authority than the word of God because God does not speak to us anymore like He did in the time of the OT.

Interesting study to do.

What do you think happened in Acts 21:20-25 then?

Some of us, when we read the Bible, we try not to anticipate revelation and use the scripture account to understand how it was like during those times.

I've been a member of multiple Christian forums since 2011 and you will always find people on these forums who have an agenda and are determined to promote their agenda at all costs, no matter how much scripture twisting, trickery, deceit, rhetoric and propaganda that it takes. If these people are unable to dazzle you with brilliance (or baffle you with something else) then they will resort to psychological games and if that doesn't work, then they will then become agitators and resort to slander if necessary. Just like a Philadelphia lawyer, it's an ego trip for such people to win their case at all costs. Whatever it takes! Nothing new under the sun.

I have to agree my favourite mail man :) that is also why I left CC alone for so long. I don't always see eye to eye with everybody but try to be friendly and in good spirit..... but sometime it is just not possible lol
