Amazing How they love to quote James 2:18 when they erroneously think it supports their works righteousness,
BUT no one wants to quote this verse from JAMES:

James 2:10 (NIV)
10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.

Only eight verses earlier, so it is part of the SAME CONTEXT.

Back that up with this verse:

🕆
Ecclesiastes 7:20 (NKJV)

20 For there is not a just man on earth who does good And does not sin.

And you cannot ever do enough good works to justify yourself to GOD.

Better learn to rely on JESUS ONLY for your Justification, and only do those works out of LOVE for HIM, expecting no credit for Your own Salvation.
It is sad

In your world maybe....not in reality according to scripture.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. (Isa 1:18)

Our sins are washed away, and we become right with God.

But that is not to say we have GODS righteousness.

Last week you stated openly that I committed blasphemy and you weren’t man enough to recognize it or apologize for it.

I don’t know who you think you are corresponding to me in that condescending tone but you’re not going to continue to do so.

As for your post, Romans 10:9-10 speaks for itself. When are you going to learn THAT?!
i feel bad for you. no one noticed that your response to PS was just a response to his question and not what you actually believe. this happens to me a lot. people dont read who you are responding to i guess maybe they use phones and cant see the quotes in the mobile app. or maybe just too eager to respond away. double check VCO, double check EleventhHour :geek: you guys should already know based on his history posting here that he agrees with you

I did apologize.

Romans 10:
3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

Romans 3
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

Titus 3
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

________

Philippians 3
9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

We are not God and although our sins have been washed away we do not have the sinless nature of either the Father or the Son.

The New Living Translation says in Romans 3:22

We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
this verse is really eye-opening and it destroys the nosas counter argument. they say its not by works like circumcision or temple sacrifices, its by these other kinds of works. but st.paul here writes that its not by works of righteousness which we have done, so not any sort of righteous deed which we have done. is baptism a righteous deed? yes. is feeding poor a righteous deed? yes. is turning from some sin righteous deed? yes. <- any and all of those we arent saved by according to that verse.

We are saved by the blood of the Lamb.
