The biblical writers taught holiness of life as one of the desired ends of God in saving us, but did not teach perfection.
They didn’t say have to. They issued the imperative “be holy, for I am holy” etc
It’s not a command that we keep or strive to keep to be saved. It is a Fatherly command from God to His Children
And holiness of life does not equal perfection.
And be assured when he speaks of "born again" I am almost positive he is not referencing regeneration, as in a work of God... but stopping one's sin a work of man... accomplished by one's own effort.
