I tend to rejoice because he has gone onto his reward in Heaven. Although I am sure a lot of people in drugs do die in their sin. He was 40 so he had already lived a pretty full life. That is heartbreaking... sorry for your loss.![]()

Salvation is accomplished by God alone. ( the triune God). After we’re saved, we have a part in growing and sanctification, but not in the sense of working towards salvation, which only God can accomplish.

Seems you and most others cannot, or will not move beyond this "salvation issue", which is a "free gift", just for the believing, UNTO "Spiritual maturity", of the which, WORKS, being "spiritual sacrifice" are required. But, are "viewed" by mockers and scoffers as "works unto salvationists!"
Works unto Spiritual maturity? Yes!
Works unto salvation? No!
It is a sure thing..........if you keep believing. You can't ignore all that the Bible says about this.notice also that such people were called. Romans 8:30 - Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. *Notice how Paul uses the past tense for a future event to stress it's certainty.
My son died from a drug overdose. He started when he broke his arm and the doctor gave him pills for the pain.
(though if we split hairs to be obedient to our Father
The security of salvation comes from having faith in Christ."Works salvationists" are seen as such because they tie their own works to wether or not they can have assurance in salvation.

What States did you ski in? I lived in Utah for 3 years and the ski there was really nice.So nice of you to ask.
My post was with regards to defending the Gospel... here, there and everywhere.
But .....I am the type of person who can enjoy spending a day organizing a cupboard... truly!!
I love researching, reading, cooking, painting, home improvements, gardening and all winter physical activities... skate, downhill ski, cross country skiing etc.,
If you really want to kill time take up golf in the summer... I myself not a fan.
Congratulations on your up and coming nuptials.![]()
Seems God "loves" "splitting hairs!"
Is called "refining!"
Gotta also be careful which "Father" you allow to place burdens on yer heart too!
Because there is a "father of lies!"
Jez thought you'd like to know that.
God has not changed one iota concerning holiness. Anyone who thinks otherwise is deceived.
1 John 3
4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. 5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.
7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
Kinda makes me wonder why everyone does not get saved when you look at all the benefits. Why would anyone want to sell out their birthright for a bowel of stew. That is a welcome comfort for believers.... agree.![]()

"Not by works" is to say we aren't saved by works.
Far different than "don't do works".
Jesus lived His life as an Example for us to follow. Jesus went about preaching, teaching and healing the sick. So that is what we are to do. "Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people." (Matthew 4:23)I agree 100% what you describe here is obedience to the gospel. (though if we split hairs to be obedient to our Father in general may be to spend time with someone or witness or eat better or save better or anything He places on our heart.....)
No? That is the "way" you "choose" to take it!
I work towards spiritual maturity!
Salvation is not the "issue!"
Although? I'll have to admit! The moving beyond the principle doctrines of Christ, unto spiritual maturity, in the spiritual sacrifice/s acceptable to God by Jesus Christ?
Can (and does) cause one to feel like one's "salvation" is in jeopardy.
But, this is more from leaning on one's own, (or others) understanding of "salvation verses spiritual maturity", on God's "threshing room floor" (scared), then it is from God!
Not to mention the mocking, scoffing, and freely tossed out monikers for those who do not lean on their own (or others) understanding.
Agree?
i agree its the best weather no bugs no excessive sweating not hard to sleep because air so warm and you can go ice fishing by skiing to the lake.I love the cold....more wood in the wood stove, dress in layers and a good crisp breath of fresh cold air......love it
they always tell us how bad life was in the past and how great it is now. how short life expectancy was then etc.
but was it really that bad in medievil times? i dont believe it. i think its just propaganda sold to us. even in the bible people lived long. apostle john lived to his 90s
its not that bad i believe in the past. some things were better, some were worse. it also depends on where you live at the time (war etc). what you guys think?
