In John, Jesus is going to His death on the Cross. It is by His death that the Judgement and condemnation to Satan is to come about. Jesus will also be going back to all those who have died "under the law of sin and death" and offer them salvation by grace. Satan is losing his" possession of the world" AS the kingdom of God, the New Covenant, is being brought in by the shedding of His blood. Forgiveness for sin, no longer death for sin, and also to whomsoever would, is but a couple of hours away at that point. These are the ways the prince of this world is being cast out. Because it is Satan, and those who claim to be Jews but are not, but are of the synagogue of Satan, that have brought it all about. Satan has set in motion his own death sentence. He has shed the innocent blood of the Lord. He is being dethroned.

In Luke Jesus is talking about a future event, when Satan will be cast out of heaven at the end of the war in heaven where his place will no more be found and he is cast to the earth, to set about deceiving as many people as he can, with all his supernatural powers, proclaiming himself to be God and sitting where he ought naught. Satan will be here as the false morning star, with a fabric bow, deceiving the whole world if possible. Jesus is telling us He is leaving us power over our enemies, that they will be subject to that power and isn't this a great example of why you should know all the promises of God. But as helpful as that is all going to be, Happiness is to be found by finding your name in the book of life.

Romans 4:5 is talking about justification. But GODS WORK DOES NOT END AT JUSTIFICATION. You are only teaching a fraction of the good news

A. Sharing the gospel, actively loving your neighbor, etc are works

B. They are also commands of Jesus.

C. John says if you claim to know Him and don’t keep His commands, you are a liar.

D. Therefore, a person who knows Jesus will obey the commands in point a. If they don’t, they are lying when they say they know Him.

Every justified person (romans 4:5, the one you take and use to exclude obedience), is a regenerate person, new nature, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has ordained. Do you know a purpose when it is stated?

So, no we are not justified by works. But we are not supposed to use free grace as an occasion to the flesh either

So do you teach your flock that they “don’t need to”.obey Christ?

Wait till you see how that flies at the Bema. I believe, giving you all the benefit of the doubt, that you’ll be in heaven, but that does not take away from the fact that your fruit and work and words will be brought to light and examined at the Bema seat.

It was a BROWSER HIGH JACKER, that I accidentally downloaded while I was looking for a Mahjongg Game, and then downloaded a website, that pretended to be, Common Games. IT LOADED the My Way Virus Browser High Jacker, and TOOK OVER GOOGLE CHROME and the rest of the Browsers. It pretends to be an add on to CHROME, and has multi-colored Circle with MW in the middle of it. It is a CHROME Look Alike, that DISABLES your Virus Protector, and Security Software. It had disabled almost all of the NORTON INTERNET SECURITY, to the POINT that I COULD NOT GET TO TECH SUPPORT. I had ONE genuine GOOGLE CHROME SIGHT, on a menu bar, that they had not got to, and it was quick link to GOOGLE IMAGES. I then got to the genuine Chrome that way, and then to NORTON's site and got a hold of Tech Support that way, as their Browser High Jacker, had disabled all of my Browsers. Not Sure what all they were up to BUT, it is NO GOOD FOR SURE. The First NORTON Tech online chat service, found she could not even get into my PC to fix the problem, so Finally she bounced me to Higher Tech, and she was finding it was blocking her from getting in the normal way too. Then after about an hour of trying, she found a different tool, and it allows her to remotely control my PC. And then she was able to control it for the removal process, and find the hidden Files that were designed to reinstall the virus. So they got rid of that NASTY, NASTY Virus.

Frankly, I pray that People who design those kinds of MALWARE, will get Caught, and they find themselves in PRISON SOON.

This whole thread is an exercise in burning strawmen. No One said salvation earned or by works. It is salvation unto works, which means salvation is wholly secured by the work Christ did, but we are His workmanship created unto good works. Is the new creation of us part of salvation or not.

Anyone who can live 50 years and be so apathetic as to produce nothing, as Dcs argument, has DEAD FAITH. Unless you want to cast James out of the Bible.

I never asserted that works are proof of salvation, I would never assert such a thing. As far as “no works, no salvation”, that is not what I said either. It’s like asking “if I never show love to my wife, am I still married? “ or “could Lazarus have remained dead when Jesus resurrected Him?”

I can’t fathom why people would create such hypothetical questions. Why would anyone even ask such things.

He said it is impossible for a Christian not to do good works, because it is part of the new nature. When I said “works follow salvation”, I meant as a result of the new nature. Then people started saying “justified by faith apart from works”, which I never denied. It was a red herring, like if I said “living humans breathe”, and then the choir stands up to sing, “you’re wrong, you’re wrong, because breathing had nothing to do with their conception!”
