Do you commit sin? Do you "practice" sin since you sin daily?

Your FLESH is a slave to sin and cannot change.

"Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be." (Romans 8:7)

What is sin? Transgression of the Law. Every time you commit a sin, you are guilty in the flesh of breaking every single one of God's Laws. (James 2:10)

Are we New Creatures? Yes. Are we to walk in the newness of that life? Yes. Are we to live a life pleasing to the Lord? Yes. But because we still have the "Old Man" we will continue to sin until the die we die and there is no stopping it.

"I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man (New Nature): But I see another law in my members, (Old Nature) warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members" (Romans 7:21-22)

Your flesh is a captive (slave) to sin. Deny it all you want, but if that were not true, you would be able one day to stop sinning entirely.

But you won't. because you can't.

John answers this with a simple phrase

How's my grace doing, um our grace, well anyway, doctrinally, I would like to understand positional sanctification, from the most basic understanding, and step by step toward deeper understanding, onto the true milk and the cornerstone of thy foundation

I highly suspect that the majority of confusion revolve around "positional sanctification" and this topic justifies a thread, and I hope that on that thread everyone can express there opinion with civility, wisdom, balanced demeanour, love, respect and with Grace.

“By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all” (Hebrews 10:10, NASB 1995).

Sanctified ...means set apart

Justified - placed securely in Christ
Sanctified - set apart in Christ

Our life is now hidden in Christ. (Col 3:3)
We are partakers of His divine nature, a precious gift (2Peter 1:4)

Sanctification is not a process of becoming holy (set apart). Only Jesus is holy.
Sanctification is a process of discovering and uncovering His holiness already accomplished and given to us in union with Christ Jesus.

As well.....

I believe that sanctification is an event first where we are separated unto Christ (our position) and made holy once and for all, and then it’s a process where we learn to live out of that position of holiness.

The process does not sanctify us, it teaches us how to live a sanctified life. :)

to make holy, that is, (ceremonially) purify or consecrate; (mentally) to venerate: - hallow, be holy, sanctify.

This can surely explain why testimonies are the most powerful and in all my cc.com experience, my testimony > all my other comments combined

And to be thankful for salvation, not just for assurance (or assurance apologetics = the only apologetics I care about) but there is a lot to learn about the day of salvation, as I also start to believe that, the testimony is underutilized

Testimonies are very powerful... God at work!!....We forget about that sometimes because we are so inundated with the all the worldly stuff around us.

I think you are mixing up two distinct things (that are not related). Some mistake the phrase "the body of this death" in Romans 7:24 to be [incorrectly] meaning "our physical bodies" (it's not referring to that).

Then they take this and try to say that "sin" (sins we commit [etc], according to them) has its source in our "[physical] bodies," where "habits" were formed from our pre-salvation days [J.MacArthur, etc]... and they say this because they [incorrectly] believe that the saint/believer/Christian/member of His body has one nature (i.e. "one naturism").

This is to not grasp what Paul is saying here... and I believe has little to do with gnosticism (a different issue, as I see it).

[and to not grasp Paul's distinction between "sinS" (Romans 1 thru 5:11) and "Sin" (Romans 5:12- chpt 8 end), in Romans]
