1 John 3: 14 We know that we have passed from death to life, (have been saved) because we love each other. (UHHUHHH...love is a fruit:)) Anyone who does not love remains in death. 15 Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.

1 Johh 3: 18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
19 This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence:

How do we know we belong to the truth? Because we love (fruit) in actions and truth (fruits of love)

1 John 3:20- 20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.

If we do not love our brethren (fruit of the Spirit) and we say we love God, we are a liar.

1 John 5:1- Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. 2 This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands

(if we are not keeping His commands, we are neither loving God nor our brother.)
