There is a basic discussion over weeks on going about the nature of sin and two different theological positions, where I take the traditional Holiness movement view towards sin,
and they take the Free Grace theology view..

So, if I'm reading you correctly he is sinning because he has a "Free Grace" theological view in opposition to your view and therefore you can't call him a brother.

So would you also consider him an heretic?

I'm kind of reminded of the "log" and "speck" statement of Jesus here.

Please provide post number where I asked anyone for external proof. I said that I don't inspect anyone's fruit but my own. God determines what is good fruit and bad fruit, for He knows the heart, the motives and intentions. THat is why the "good works by Moslems, Budhists, etc" fail, because good works are not necessarily good fruit. The motive and intent have to be good as well as the action. See the first verses of Matthew chapter six.

I do not inspect anyone's fruit but my own. I never asked ANYONE for external proof of their salvation. You are a false accuser.

but, you do obsess over how long it takes one to bear fruit. that makes you a fruit checker.

Hi gb9,
You do not like the Nazarene church and weslyan or Holiness movement theology.
Neither of us can in a few notes talk about such a divide in outlook.

Your language is just saying a simple idea. We are failures with or without Jesus, cleansed or
uncleansed, filled with the Holy Spirit or not. Just obtain the free pass and wait.

I respect you sincerely believe this, thank you for your contribution.
Put simply scripture and Gods ways would be much simpler and brutal if this was true.

I have repeated this point many times, and you like your conclusions. So God bless you,
thank you for your contributions.

you keep trying to paint this picture that the definition of sin is my opinion or view.

missing the mark, falling short of a standard is what the word sin means in the N.T.

James went on to say that sin is knowing to do good and not doing so.

Paul say that whatever is not of faith is sin.

you can deny these all you want, but these are facts, not opinions.

Wow, relax..I was answering questions you asked. The whole point is that there is no salvation in sin...its from sin.

Well thats you ropinion, And you keep spewing it, B ut your wrong. And thats the part you do not realise

We are SAVED From the PENALTY OF SIN.

If we commit ONE sin in a week. We are deemed to have been a sinner that week. If we commit 1000 sins in one week. We are deemed a sinner for that week.

Thats the part you fail to understand.

Jesus said, and the bible is full of the same all over the place: "If you love me keep my commandments". OSAS denies that a grace saved Christian can REALLY be an overcomer,

Again, Your a liar. Dude you need to stop this nonsense of telling people what they believe which is not true.

OSAS says we overcome BECAUSE OF OUR FAITH

And scripture back us up!

1 John 5:4
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith, Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God

But you think you overcome it by some unseen power which comes from yourself. And that is just not true.

t heREALLY have victory over sin, etc. and OSAS says, regarding salvation, sin does not matter once your saved as sin has no negative effect on your saved position. All that is a lie of satan.

Our victory over sin is our salvation, Not our strength, You have things mixed up, Your trying to take Glory away from God, God will nto share it with you

Post number please. Don't make accusations without providing documentation.

I argued against an unscriptural statement by DC. Nowhere in the scripture does it say a period of growth and maturity is needed for a Christian to bear ANY fruit. IF you think it does, provide book, chapter, and verse.

Even your argument about how long it takes a plant to grow literal fruit is invalid, because crops only take several months, AND you are not saying that Christian maturity happens in several months are you?

they just keep denying and watering down what sin is....

Post number please. I'll check in tomorrow to see how you did.

I will post no number, which of course you will spin and deny. any who want can look back over your posts and decide for themselves.

unlike you, I have no desire to stand over anyone in judgement.

The standard is keeping the commandments of God.

Sin is the transgression of the law (10 commandments)
Sin is lawlessness (transgression of the law, a spirit of disobedience, a spirit of relegating sin to non importance, etc)

yes.

and , if you care about the Biblical definition of sin, which expounds on this farther, which is missing the mark, falling short of a standard.

James went on to say that knowing to do good and not doing so is sin.

I am really getting tired of typing this, in wish ya'll would quit denying simple truth.

Whats worse

One who denys sin, and as such excusing their own sin

Or one who Admits he still falls short of Gods standard, as such owning up to their own weaknesses and failures (not seeing themselves as greater than they really are ) And keeps his eyes on the cross?

The gift of salvation has within it the gift of obedience to all the commandments of God. Loving God has within it living by every word that proceedeth from the mouth of God.
