WE ARE GOD’S FELLOW WORKERS(1 cor 3:9)

ARE THERE WORKS NEEDED TO BE DONE FOR SALVATION?
WE ARE TO SERVE IN THE WORKS OF THE GOSPEL WHICH IS THE GOSPEL OF OUR SALVATION.
1 Thessalonians 3:2,5 We sent Timothy, who is our brother and GOD’S FELLOW WORKER in SPREADING THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST, to strengthen and encourage you in your faith, For this reason, when I could stand it no longer, I sent to find out about your faith. ARE THERE WORKS NEEDED TO BE DONE FOR SALVATION?

If one reads Romans 2:6-10 in isolation from the rest of the book of Romans, one might conclude that Paul was teaching salvation by works. However, as you read and study these passages, it's critical to keep in mind that these verses do not describe how one becomes saved, but the way the saved (and unsaved) conduct their lives. These works done are the result of, not the means or basis of receiving salvation.
So patient continuance in well doing, seeking for glory, honor, and immortality; (vs. 7) is not at all set forth as the means of their procuring eternal life, but as a description of those to whom God does render life eternal.
*Notice that ALL who receive eternal life are described as such, everyone who does good (vs. 10).
Good deeds flow from a heart that is saved and evil deeds flow from a heart that is unsaved. Verse 8 - but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness--indignation and wrath.

What those passages convey is that though our deeds are judged by God, it's not the good deeds themselves which are the basis or means of receiving eternal life, but the type of deeds expose whether our heart was saved, or not. These deeds done out of faith are the fruit, not the root of salvation. If Paul wanted to teach that we are saved by works, then he would have clearly stated that we are saved through faith and works in Ephesians 2:8,9 and that we are justified by faith and works in Romans 5:1 but that is clearly NOT what Paul said. *Also see (Romans 4:2-6; Titus 3:5; 2 Timothy 1:9 etc..).

Yes saved by grace through faith refers to us being born again; regenerated - justified by grace.
4 But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. I would draw your attention to the phrase -

When we are born again, we are joined in union to Him, and are now "in Christ"
We are one spirit with Him in which we are joined in union with the eternal life that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him. 1 Corinthians 6:17
As long as we remain in Christ, we have the hope of eternal life.
This is what faith is all about: the substance of the thing we are hoping for.
If we fast forward to the Day when He judges us according to our deeds, we see that our hope of eternal life will be fully realized, on that Day.

Unlike the english word "hope," the N.T. word contains no uncertainty; it speaks of something that is certain. - Strong's #1680 elpís (from elpō, "to anticipate, welcome") – properly, expectation of what is sure (certain); hope.
If we have saving faith in Christ then we have this hope. Faith is the substance of things HOPED for.. (Hebrews 11:1). So that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the HOPE of eternal life (Titus 3:7).

If God gave you a dream in which He gave you a vision of the winning lottery ticket, and you went and purchased a lottery ticket and sure enough it was a winner, you would now have a winning lottery ticket, and the hope of receiving the money from the winning lottery ticket.

If we have faith in Jesus Christ for salvation, then by default we have not yet received the salvation of our soul yet.
Like the winning lottery ticket, we first must actually obey what the Lord told us in the vision, His message to us, which is to purchase the winning lottery ticket.
This is when we obtain the end result [winning the money] by faith: obedience in response to what God speaks to us.
They announce the ticket numbers and you see that you have the winning lottery ticket.
The end result of your faith to obey the heavenly word is to receive the money that the winning ticket represents.
The winning ticket is not the actual money, but represents the money you will receive when you reach the destination where they have the money.
You must arrive their with the winning lottery ticket.
Can you throw away the ticket, because you simple do not believe anymore?
Can you get lost along the way.
If someone convinces you to trade the winning lottery ticket for a bag of "magic beans" that are claimed to bring you something better, and you agree. Do you still have the winning lottery ticket?
If someone threatens to kill you if you don't tear up the ticket and throw it away: Do you still have the lottery ticket?
If you arrive at the destination where they will give you the money for the ticket, and you have no ticket, can you honestly expect to receive the money that the ticket once represented?
