good. keep it up.
Keep it up....Jesus began it, Jesus will finish it and Jesus will complete the good work of faith he began in me.....and if by chance in a moment of weakness I fail....He abides faithful because he cannot deny himself!
good. keep it up.
Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written,
Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.
(Matthew 4:10, kjv)
where is this exact quote in the old testament?
I heard that....as lawyers and Pharisees go...no ability to admit error.....ride that pride right to the flaming pit....
what saddens me is i really do love the KJV
it is my favorite translation
and i personally believe it is a legit translation of Gods word
but i dislike this "kjvo" group....
it bums me out to see people act like this
not only have i seen brothers and sisters come to the truth with many translations (including the KJV)
i have seen many who stand by the KJV push doctrine that is NOT biblical....
God did a wonderful job preserving His written word....
That is what people fail to see.....the righteousness of Christ has been imputed to my account by faith into his blood.......everytime the FATHER looks at me he sees the righteousness of his son.....and everytime Jesus examimes me HE CANNOT DENY HIMSELF AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS.....
We have been born of INCORRUPTABLE SEED BY THE POWER OF GOD...it is beyond the ability to be corrupted!!

Yeah I have heard deacons, church members and even preachers say that Jesus and Paul taught out of the King Jimmy.....that is ignorance on a grand scale.....
Great post, dc!
I agree. While studying the scriptures, I was so excited when I began to see and understand that Jesus is the Human Fulfillment of the Law for me. He is my righteousness.
Jesus came to earth not just to die on the cross but also to fulfill all righteousness for all who would believe.
He was circumcised on the 8th day, about His Father's business at the age of 12, and began His ministry at age 30. Throughout His time on Earth, He was fulfilling all the Law and Prophets had said and spoken concerning the Messiah.
At the end of His 3 1/2 years of ministry, He went up to the mount of transfiguration where He was examined by the Law and The Prophets being Moses and Elijah. Jesus became transfigured because He passed His examination. He was now ready for His final Work to do - die on the cross, shed His blood as The Lamb of God for the remission of our sins.
He had fulfilled ALL the Works of the Law in His human body. Remember, John the Baptist didn't feel worthy to baptize Jesus and Jesus responded, "Suffer it to be, so that we might FULFILL ALL RIGHTEOUSNESS." Jesus got water baptized because we needed it. I don't completely understand, but somehow, everything we do - our "works" are recorded in our bodies. Jesus was recording in His Body ALL the Works of the Law as The Gift of Righteousness for us! All our "works" recorded in our bodies is "filthy rags of righteousness."
We needed more than His Blood, we needed His Righteousness, too, because even after His Blood cleanses us from our sins, the Law still MUST be fulfilled which we could NEVER do. So, Jesus did BOTH for us!
His Body is the Bread - His Human Fulfillment of Righteousness for us!
His Blood is the Wine - His Human Fulfillment for the penalty of sin!
Jesus Christ, our Savior, Lord and King be forever praised! Hallelujah! Amen.
Wow! You're more than just a joyful sister in the Lord that likes trivia! Great post!
Matthew 3:13-16
13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
_____________
Jesus got baptized because He was to fulfil ALL righteousness (which He did perfectly)
the same righteousness imputed to every single born again believer
Sweet post PennEd!
I see you have ears to hear, for you understood my post! How precious it is to be taught by the Lord and not man.
Understanding comes so easily when the Holy Spirit is the Teacher. Oh, how I do love my Teacher!![]()
How did YOU decide what "the righteousness" was that HE "FULFILLED?"
It couldn't have been TO GIVE US AN EXAMPLE because John's baptism was one of "REPENTANCE; BELIEVING THAT JESUS WAS COMING" (Acts 19:4)!
Did JESUS "need" REPENTANCE?
Did JESUS "need" to "BELIEVE HE WAS COMING?"
WHY then would you say it was "THE SAME RIGHTEOUSNESS IMPUTED TO EVERY SINGLE BORN AGAIN BELIEVER?"
WHY DIDN'T YOU LET "SCRIPTURE "WITNESS" SCRIPTURE AS TO WHAT THE "RIGHTEOUSNESS" WAS THAT JESUS "FULFILLED?"
In Matthew 5:17-18 JESUS SAID "Think not that I've come to destroy the LAW, or the PROPHETS: I am not come to destroy, BUT TO "FULFILL." For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one JOT or one TITTLE shall in NO WISE pass from the LAW, till ALL be FULFILLED."
DID YOU HEAR WHAT JESUS SAID? EVERYTHING HE HAD SPOKEN OF IN THE OLD TESTAMENT THROUGH THE "PROPHETS"
HE WAS GOING TO "FULFILL" (II PETER 3:9)!
JOHN SAID IN JOHN 3:28 "You yourselves know how plainly I told you, 'I am not the Messiah. I am only here to prepare the way for him."
"PREPARING THE WAY FOR THE MESSIAH" WERE THE SAME WORDS SPOKEN BY THE PROPHETS ISAIAH (40:3) AND MALACHI (3:1) WHICH JESUS WAS "FULFILLING" BY BEING WATER BAPTIZED AND *NOT* "IMPUTING RIGHTEOUSNESS TO EVERY SINGLE BORN AGAIN BELIEVER."
YOUR BELIEF *MUST* BE "WITNESSED" BY SCRIPTURE!
ISAIAH 8:20 SAYS "IF THEY SPEAK NOT ACCORDING TO *THIS WORD* IT IS BECAUSE THERE IS NO LIGHT IN THEM."![]()
DC...that's an impossibility. No one can believe that...the translation wasn't even written...
I don't disagree that there is a corruption of the Word of God within Modern Translations. I believe the KJV to be the divinely inspired Word of God for our day (that is perfect) and that we have to be careful about Modern Bibles. I use Modern Translations to help update the Old English. To put it to you another way, I look at Modern Translations as if I am sifting to the dirt to get to the gold (Which can be found in the KJV, and the original Greek, and Hebrew). They can be helpful sometimes, but they are not my final word of authority. I believe that authority to be the KJV 1769 (1611).
. . .
Now to the later we answere; that wee doe not deny, nay wee affirme and avow, that the very meanest {poorest} translation of the Bible in English, set foorth by men of our profession (for wee have seene none of theirs of the whole Bible as yet) containeth the word of God, nay, is the word of God. . . .
. . .
Yet before we end, we must answere a third cavill and objection of theirs against us, for altering and amending our Translations [sic] so oft; wherein truely they deale hardly, and strangely with us. {The very same thing KJV ONLY do to MODERN Translations.} For to whom ever was it imputed for a fault (by such as were wise) to goe over that which hee had done, and to amend it where he saw cause? . . .
. . .
But the difference that appeareth betweene our Translations, and our often correcting of them, is the thing that wee are specially charged with; let us see therefore whether they themselves bee without fault this way, (if it be to be counted a fault, to correct) and whether they bee fit men to throw stones at us: But it is high time to leave them, and to shew in briefe what wee proposed to our selves, and what course we held in this our perusall and survay of the Bible. Truly (good Christian Reader) wee never thought from the beginning, that we should neede to make a new Translation, nor yet to make of a bad one a good one,
. . .
but to make a good one better, or out of many good ones, one principall good one, not justly to be excepted against; that hath bene our indeavour, that our marke.
. . .
huh?
not exactly sure i understand what youre saying
but
note : "ALL" righteousness....
2 Corinthians 5:21 - For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Philippians 3:9 - And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
Isaiah 53:11 - He shall see of the travail of his soul, [and] shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
Galatians 2:16 - Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
1 Peter 2:24 - Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Romans 3:22 - Even the righteousness of God [which is] by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
Romans 1:17 - For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
___________
we are saved by grace through faith....
and when we (born again sons and daughters of God)
are judged
we will also be judged by the same standard as EVERYONE
the difference between the saved
and unsaved
is the unsaved have their own righteousness that they will be judged by
those covered by the sacrifice of Jesus will be judged by His in regards to salvation...
Romans 5:19
19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
