yeah I added him this morning. his slander of you was the last straw.. People want to lie about others. and never repent when MANY PEOPLE are tryign to show them their lie, they deserve to be ignored.

Ok Professor Decon, "belief is not a work", God was pleased to save us and place us into His vine,
just by believing, got it.

Christ Crucified Is God’s Power and Wisdom: 1Corinthians1:21

Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?
21) For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.

James said show HIM their faith by works. (speaking to people who NEVER DID ANY WORKS)

James is not God. God does not need to see works.

Belief is a work, The WORK OF GOD :p

John 6, "It is the WORK OF GOD you believe in the one he sent"

in context TT is talking about how Jesus sees the heart

we are born again by grace through faith <- adopted as sons and imputed with His righteousness

without works

romans 4
5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness

not at all what the verse you have posted is speaking of


(a chapter admonishing those who favor some based on their wealth or status)

warning against these actions

saying one may come to you and say
"Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works."

so let your faith be perfect and complete

Amen, But I would say anything in the flesh would be any work, not just works of the law. Althhough that was the Context of what Paul wrote.
 
Does God need see our works to prove we are saved?
If so, why so?

Maybe he doesn't know until we show him.

Maybe he thinks

"Ah yes Bill is saved today, I wonder if he will show up tomorrow, if not he's out"

Or does he say

John 13:34-35
34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Is not James saying the same thing?

But I trust God when he says they happened and are real.

Hi EG...Your post reminds me of this Scripture...John 20:29 Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."...

We I believe are also those who have not seen yet believe , that is called faith...xox...

Depends on the faith,many religions have a point to do works in "pleasing others" for "personal gain" even some denominations of Christianity,but the difference being "which faith saves" and through that faith produces "works" not for selfish desire but for Serving God/Jesus.
Anyone can come by "a faith" but if it doesn't lead to "salvation" then it is "not true faith".

For instance just off the top of my head "if" I were to make up a religion or faith like say "help everyone that you meet in someway and you will have life after death" well with such a belief it would need "verification" and "plausibility" all one would have to do is "give a promise" tell someone it is true from "personal experience or observation,and you have a religion or faith that someone could "believe" but come to pass by "word of mouth" and most likely "majority" but be "not true" playing on what most everyone wants typically "life after death" it's very simple and even a child could do so but thankfully "Christianity" has "verification" and "plausibility" and even "real personal experiences".

Jesus commanded us to love others as he loved us. Reading the Gospels I would say that Jesus was not just a worker nut a hard worker all done in the name of love. If you have faith in Jesus you will keep this commandment and work hard to please Jesus and not for any selfish motives.
that is what Paul condemns. Working thinking that you are obligating God to reward you with eternal life.

I believe that is called universalism or something... I've never met anyone who believes that but I've heard about it on the internet.

no one disagrees a genuine faith will have fruit than can manifest as "good works"

(praise God)

but what people reject

is the false doctrine that works are required for salvation
or the false doctrine you can be born again and still end up in the lake of fire

(both lies)
