What on earth are you on about?
Not hardly.....maybe you should open your eyes and not read what is not in the text......and who exactly is he addressing it to and who exactly is he defending.....your cake taking never ceases to amaze.....
Blessing Bill,
I am grieved how quickly you dismiss the work Christ has done in your life,
how weak and tossed around in the sea that you are no example for others
to be inspired by. Why do you disown the work you say God has done in
your heart like it is nothing, you are like any other sinner, not worthy to be
listened to or regarded, a hypocrite who fails at too many levels to be a help.
Everyone has their own walk, but leaders are there to demonstrate leadership,
to show the fruit of the very gospel that is preached and to help others in
their need and weakness.
Are leaders, stealing, commiting adultery, lying, self serving, bearing false testimony,
not honouring their parents, dishonouring the word, commiting blasphemy, greedy, self
indulgent individuals. Now some are and have been caught doing exactly that.
But Paul puts a model for leaders and how they are to behave. Or is this part of the
bible been excluded in your version and it would be evil to suggest these standards and
encouragements are of the Lord?
This is not exactly rocket science of church governance and obvious leadership.
Maybe people are so jaded, only hypocrites run churches now!!!!!!!
Maybe this is the level of church ministry you are into. I do not recognise it
unfortunately, and would never be part of church with such unspecified standards.
What on earth are you on about?
he really is...AMEN....I almost responded but it would do no good....he would just spin it away and deny......and the funny (sic) thing is the truth that Bill is one of the most decent, honest believers on this site.....
Say! That's a rather LARGE portion of unwarranted condemnation you've dished out there!

Peace be with you Bill,
Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers--not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.
1 Peter 5:2-3
Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.
Heb 13:7
Therefore I urge you to imitate me.
1 Corinthians 4:16
We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.
Hebrews 6:12
Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.
1 Corinthians 11:1
Join with others in following my example, brothers, and take note of those who live according to the pattern we gave you.
Philippians 3:17
Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.
1 Timothy 4:12
To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
"He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth."
1 Peter 2:21-22
Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,
not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.
He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil's trap.
1 Tim 3:2-7
Any organisation is lead by its leaders who set the example by their standard of life.
So here on cc, you show patience, endurance, self control, love understanding.
As an example to others to likewise follow.
So equally in the church, church leaders are called to
set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.
Philippians 3:17
What is amazing, and I have to say amazing, is the number of comments spoken as if
no one is to set an example, and to suggest such a thing, which scripture calls us all to,
is wrong.
Now truly, all who speak like this, do you know they speak against the Lord and His ways.
For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.
1 Thessalonians 4:7
This is a difficult thing to understand, and to envision, until you see Jesus and His example.
Humbleness, meekness, appropriateness, love, care, support, patience, kindness, self control,
endurance, perseverance, fellowship, sharing, teaching, sacrifice, faith, prayer, giving, receiving,
listening, gentleness, purity, service.
None of these things we are incapable of doing, or walking in. Unless ofcourse one dismisses
even considering following Jesus at all as an exercise in proving yourself to God, rather than actually
recognising this is "the way" to life and the Father.
Now to those who do not want to follow Christs example and call yourselves christians, the reason
why believers were called follows of "the way", because this is what Christ called us to do. Amen.
To brothers and sisters in Christ, our example is Jesus, our guide is His word, and the Holy Spirit,
so Amen, and Praise the Lord.
Welcome. Back. Again. Move a lot, yes? UK, USA, Canada? Wow!
Dear sister in the Lord,
Our leaders are called to be examples of a good christian walk.
Are you denying this?
Are you suggesting to even suggest there is such a thing a righteousness and holiness,
living above reproach is something no-one needs to do, let alone the leadership is evil?
So the church you wish to follow is spiritually and morally bankcrupt, before one has
even begun.
Jesus says this about the fate of such churches and leadership
You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
Matthew 5:13
Worse still you are putting me as being evil, to bring the word of the Lord
in this issue. God help you before the King of Kings.
You completely missed my point or did you not but thought better to have s pop.
Yes we are to be imitators of Jesus.
BUT WE ARE NO TO PUT PEOPLE ON A PEDASTOOL.
We seek Jesus for our own faith and not someone we put on a pedestal.
Further I never said I was in chuch leadership.
And my Bible does have 66 books in it.
what? so now there's more liars here now? smh
Well sister I'm speculating, and people need the benefit of the doubt, but he has all the hallmarks of Peter.
He starts with an over the top "loving" greeting followed by an admonition to a "brother", dripping with condescension, buuuut maybe instead of being a brother you're really an evil one, and NOT a brother.
Sprinkle in an out of context Bible verse that HE SAYS means we need to be sinless perfectionists, and how he is able to attain such status.
Then back to a syrupy sweet "blessing" to the supposedly evil person.
Not realizing that merely creating the account is sinful behavior on multiple levels.

Not crazy about guessing whether a new member is really an old member, but by golly I think you're right!
Try as he may, Peter just can't get away from his writing style and sinless perfection doctrine.
it's one thing to say and claim and another thing to do and walk the talk. Who is the liar according to that scripture, is it not the one who are just saying and claiming?
Romans 3:3-4 What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God’s faithfulness? Not at all! Let God be true, and every man a liar. As it is written: “So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge.”
It's that red bolded part that is so aberrant, Ralph. You seem to think we won't be saved until Jesus returns, looks at our works, and says, "Okay, I pronounce you saved because of the evidence of your good deeds."
