Living in any of the aforementioned sins shows the person doesn't possess eternal life. It shows they've never been converted.

Now explain how never being born again, or losing it along the way changes the fact that if you meet Jesus in that condition you are not going to enter into the kingdom.

Does this include persons who continually lie about others, what they believe, &c?

Those verses do not pertain to condemnation of believers.

1 Corinthians 11:29 - For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly. 30 For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep. 31 But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged. 32 But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord so that we will not be condemned along with the world.

Paul knows that the judgment of God can take on the form of physical illness and even physical death. The word "sleep" when referring to death, refers to the physical death of believers, not spiritual death (John 11:11-12; Acts 7:60; 1 Corinthians 15:6,18,20,51; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-15; 2 Peter 3:4).

Calling on a person who perpetually lies to apologize and repent isn't grudge holding. You need to apologize and end it, this will be met with Christian forgiveness. Until this happens you will be held accountable for your practice.

God doesn't "punish" His sons, He corrects them. When God punishes, it is with wrath. There is no condemnation or wrath for His children. Jesus took all the punishment for us on the cross.

As someone who has had cancer, and survived by the grace of God, I find that statement rather offensive.. People do NOT have diseases given to them just because they have sin in their lives. We get diseases because we live in an evil, fallen and polluted world. And IMO, your statement just polluted it some more. :/

You are invited to a wedding. You accept the invitation and you turn up. Halfway through the reception the best man and ushers come up to you and say that the Groom has changed his mind about your invite and you are to leave this minute because you havn't done enough to get ready. After recovering from the shock you wonder what exactly you should have done to meet the Grooms standards and why you were invited in the first place.

This appears to be how some see Gods attitude towards themselves. We can never be ready enough to meet Gods standards that why Christ met them for us. We are all invited to the wedding. All we need to prepare for is where we will be in the seating arrangements.

Let us read the word of the Lord together...

This shows that you have to have works when Jesus comes back or you show that you do not have eternal life in you and so you will not inherit the kingdom. That's not a works gospel.

Your 'clothing' shows whether or not you have washed in the blood of the Lamb. Many will be sent to the fiery place because they thought they were properly 'dressed' to enter into the wedding feast and that their works 'didn't matter'. But as the passage says, they will instead be cast out into eternal damnation.

They weren't as saved as they thought they were. They ignored the signs in their life that showed they really weren't ready. All thanks to a seducing spirit in the church that lied to them and said their works don't matter because once you are saved you are always saved.

And you have my most sincere apologies. I in no way want to suggest that all sickness is due to unrepentant sin. I should have clarified that. I apologize.

That being said, and I mean every word of it, it is still clear in scripture that we can purposely invite the horrors of cancer and other diseases by being unrepentant. Many have said in this thread that the Bible is clear that God will chastise his own. But again, I mean no insensitivity to those who have fallen to these horrible diseases. My mom died of cancer. And it was not pretty.

No, I'm of the opinion that anyone who makes grace out to be a license to live like Galatians 5:19-21 is probably NOT born again. That was the point. Born again people don't live in sin. They sin but they do not live in it. That's what your own once saved always saved doctrine teaches. The person who is not living the faith is not born again. But I get blasted and derided for saying what your own doctrine says.

I've been saying this over and over and over to myself. The church has departed from the word of God. It took me many years but I finally came to the sober realization that what the church believes and teaches is far different than what the Bible actually says. We just gloss over those parts that don't fit with what we've been taught. This is a perfect example.
