Did he get banned?
He's not banned. I feel for the him, hope he gets on the right track bro.
Did he get banned?
A childish provocation,if you don't believe in the holy spirit just say so.
Are you rebuking Joseph after saying online rebukes are pointless?
I can relate to this. I have had this happen in my close circle and family too many times. This is why I choose to abstain from alcohol completely, I do not want to be a victim of my genes.Sadly speaking, not being judgemental, a example of this is Pastor Perry Noble.
He lost his church because his personal convictions did not think having an occasional drink of alcohol was a big deal.
Months later his wife confronted him about his reliance on alcohol to even write sermons.
He ignored her, then his lead elder picked up on it and confronted him and the truth was, by his very own admission, that he was now a drunk.
Not at all, just telling the young man to be himself and use 2 Cor 5 in context.
Well goodbye Phart you like Peter have gone and hurt others and now feign innocence and claim we are not christians, and cannot go in peace with dignity nonetheless,I would have people here pray for you for God would desire us to be compassionate toward those who act as such that they find God in due time, goodbye and may you find peace through Jesus someday.
1 Corinthians Chapter 9
►
1 Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?
2 If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord.
3 Mine answer to them that do examine me is this,
4 Have we not power to eat and to drink?
5 Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?
6 Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working?
7 Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock?
8 Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also?
9 For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?
10 Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope.
11 If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?
12 If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.
13 Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar?
14 Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.
15 But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void.
16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!
17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.
18 What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.
19 For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.
20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.
23 And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.
24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

i was asked about the bolded verse
anyone care to share their understanding?
i have my own currently but it is subject to change
Well the fun part is condemning other's sins, finding excuses for sins of self....making things a sin that isn't....the list goes on
=============================================Amen! It's not our place to tell people how to live, or interpret things for them. I cannot point a finger one way or the other, for I know i'll have 3 pointing straight back at me. I can't tell someone how to live. I can only live how the Holy Spirit intends for me to live, and what God's word tells me, and that's how it will be with all believers. If the Holy Spirit compels you to stop smoking, then stop it! If it's drinking, then stop it! If it's gambling, then stop it! That's the beauty of the Comforter, He gives us that wisdom and guidance along the way
How do you know he was not already being himself? Not at all, just telling the young man to be himself and use 2 Cor 5 in context.
Those who push a losable salvation try to make it say that Paul is taking about losing his salvation....he is not...he is talking about being unusable as an Apostle and or effective witness for JESUS.....
This whole hoopla started because someone decided to start a simple what's your favorite TV show thread. This is why we can't have nice things. Not to myself never to start a "who are your favorite musical artists" thread.
I do not recall reading anyone, including , phart ever posted that, so why are you?
AMEN...this ^^^^^^^^^^I am always so grateful for my own church when I hear of all the false teachings others have been subject to in their congregations, to the point where they say there is no true meeting of the saints. The funny thing is, the one who is going around condemning people and saying they need to repent of their sin, justifies his own, and continues to lie about people. He obviously has an agenda, and refuses to repent of his sin. Will you rebuke him and call him to repentance?
Do you go out in the world and openly judge someone youy see who is struggling with sin?
I understand, if someone is sinning against you, or they are sinning a sin which may endanger themselves or others, there is a time to call them out on the spot
But is this what the Bible tells us to do.
and are we to question ones salvation if they have a particular sin? Or help them overcome that sin,
First of all, I am sorry if there was a slander on you. I did not read the thread where you were accused, so I do not have total understanding of what he said and you said. My only knowledge was what was posted here and to be honest, I cannot take any side in that fight.
Second, Do you or anyone else really think there is an impact to rebuke, reproof and correction on a chat board? If I was in a position of spiritual authority in real life over phart and he did this to you in person, I would rush to offer correction.
Not one person here, including myself as any real life spiritual authority over another, despite what we all do.I have to constantly remind myself of this, myself and moderate my posts accordingly
We simply cannot allow our feelers to get this hurt on a chat board. Sorry if that is met with resistance, hurt or anger, but it is how I see it.
You mean we aren't supposed to have a knock down drag out fight to see who is correct? I thought that was the Christian way to settle disputes!!!Yeah I don't sense hostility now, naturally there will be butting heads so to speak still but, hopefully in a "respectful"and "non hurt seeking way",that's what has stirred my soul multiple times here, such maliciousness without shame, yet claiming others are the ones doing wrong,I am grateful to storm is over for now and we can continue to discuss with "kindness" "patience" and "understanding" if we so wish and likewise other subjects,no subject should turn from "learning"'and "correction" to "pointing fingers" and trying to shame someone to hide one's own sins,if we are humble with God we ought to be able to be humble to a degree with each other at the very least concerning scripture, because each of us come from different demoninations and believe most likely somewhat different concerning certain biblical subjects,it's tough having a conversation but that's apart of "learning" and "gaining understanding" of one another and our beliefs, now yeah like many I can be harsh, but I don't seek personal targeting on anyone and don't put someone down for believing or not believing something, hate only breeds more hatred, and I prefer to at least "try to get along with others" as per the reason behind my signature, yeah there may be a hinted insult or sarcastic remark between each other because we make mistakes, but somethings a person in Christ doesn't do,one of them being "seeking hurt" it's one thing to say something insulting in the heat of a moment but it's quite another to feed that flame so to speak intentionally with "making things personal" with someone, focus energy to "correct" someone or prove a biblical or moral point is good but when one should always know the fine line between "correcting/teaching" and "intimidating and forcing beliefs on someone".
And I'm not talking about standing firm to one's position they believe is best spiritually,I'm talking about "putting oneself on a pedestal" or speaking on your belief in such a manner that it just has to be true because it's your belief and viewing everyone else's view as wrong and even being condescending toward others, belief can be good if you can handle not having alot of pride with it.
You mean we aren't supposed to have a knock down drag out fight to see who is correct? I thought that was the Christian way to settle disputes!!!![]()
I can relate to this. I have had this happen in my close circle and family too many times. This is why I choose to abstain from alcohol completely, I do not want to be a victim of my genes.
It always starts off with a couple of beers, then you start running around town, well I just do it on the weekends..... more and more excuses until you're the towndrunk. As sinful as I am, Lord willing I will never be a drunk.
But this also is a double edged sword, because once you see what it does to your family and friends, you start hating it. And the risk is there that you can start looking down on other people who do drink.
