I am always so grateful for my own church when I hear of all the false teachings others have been subject to in their congregations, to the point where they say there is no true meeting of the saints. The funny thing is, the one who is going around condemning people and saying they need to repent of their sin, justifies his own, and continues to lie about people. He obviously has an agenda, and refuses to repent of his sin. Will you rebuke him and call him to repentance?
why do you and others concentrate only on the old man? You seem to be content with digging him up all the time.
The new man is not perfect or sinless at all, he will still sin.
However, he also does not go out to the tomb and dig up his former self up all the time.
Totally with you on this. Discipleship and discernment is needed.
We have a lot of broken and hurt people in the world today.
In fact in my church we have loads coming in.
I have the privilege of coming alongside.
I view discipleship and discernment as having to walk hand in hand.
Discernment of issues that need dealing with and discipleship based on solid biblical foundations.
I have found that biblical foundations lead to issues being dealt with.
I would always say though that people who come into our church or believers in our church who are really struggling they need to know they are loved where they are at.
No one will ever trust us if they do not know that they are accepted and loved.
If our old man had died and had been buried with Christ already, why would we need to do it all over again?
We all seem to forget that God does not remember the old us, so why should us?

Well also to add to it, if you don't make them feel welcome in your church, how are you going to add to the faith? We're there to be shining examples in front of those, even those who may be lost. If a church doesn't make you feel welcome and give you a right hand of fellowship, and it doesn't show any liveliness in God, that church needs prayer and remembrance. Too many churches are going the way of the world these days, and it's causing many to depart from the faith, mainly because they are not following God's word.
I hear you loud and clear, we do not and are not mandated in the Bible to go on witch hunts.

According to this quote. People who watch certain tv shows have walked away from God in unbelief.

I am not sure what your getting at, Who said I kept digging up the old man. I am not the one judging other people for their sins..
Some people believe that having suffered, they are better equipped to deal with others who may be suffering the same things. What good can we be to others if we cannot relate to their challenges, struggles, pain, and suffering? Much of which, to be sure, is caused by sin, but, those looking for relief from their sorrows in life do not always acknowledge sin, or their need of God. Nor does everyone suffer from the same problems or circumstances, though the solution is always the same.

Thats why I love my church, I never understood true discipleship and accountability until I found this church, and I had been to so many churches all across the country, Its sad.

I am not sure what that has to do with me saying If God stood in front of me today me seeing all the sin I not only did not know or did not understand, but the sins I actually struggled with.

The Bible says there will be a day when ALL our sin is exposed. And I believe it.
I completely agree. To me, that's being judgemental. That is the same as the parable Jesus spoke about the Pharisee and the publican who went to pray at the temple. The Pharisee prayed and thanked God that he wasn't like all the other people, even so much like the lowly Publican, but the Publican bowed his head, and wouldn't even lift it towards heaven and with a humble heart prayed, Lord, forgive me, for I am a sinner. And Jesus said That I tell you, only one of these men went to his house whole.....I highly doubt it was the Pharisee. PHart seriously needs to be careful

Do you go out in the world and openly judge someone youy see who is struggling with sin?
I understand, if someone is sinning against you, or they are sinning a sin which may endanger themselves or others, there is a time to call them out on the spot

Yes they need to made to feel welcome as they are. So many prudes and easily offended believers in the church today.
Those who say "don't drink don't smoke what do you do?
They then proceed to tell them what they shouldn't be doing and what they should be doing.
If only it were that easy.

Let's take time to find the cause.
Deal with that, and when God does we see people set free.
When people see the truth of a loving father, it's that truth sets them free.
Amen! It's not our place to tell people how to live, or interpret things for them. I cannot point a finger one way or the other, for I know i'll have 3 pointing straight back at me. I can't tell someone how to live. I can only live how the Holy Spirit intends for me to live, and what God's word tells me, and that's how it will be with all believers. If the Holy Spirit compels you to stop smoking, then stop it! If it's drinking, then stop it! If it's gambling, then stop it! That's the beauty of the Comforter, He gives us that wisdom and guidance along the way
Hi E-g, I would fall down as well. This is all hypothetical exaggerated speech that is meant to bring about shame and guilt. We used to have a saying; how would you like to have every thought or action, good or bad, that you did in the last 24hrs, and replay this on public media for the whole wide world to see. Most people said of course not. That is why we confess our sins and He is faithful to forgive us our sins. "What a friend we have in Jesus."
Every Church I have been a member of discipline's wrong behavior through Church leadership and according the bible.
