Grieving the Holy spirit leads to chastenment.....how many people would adopt a child and throw them out as soon as they misbehave?
Why do some worship a god who is more cruel then most humans?
God's love transforms the heart and mind. His Holy spirit teaches us how to be more like Him and walk in His light and love.
If God does not correct and teach us, we aren't His children and either still under the Old Covenant (the Law haven't fully lead us to Christ) or trapped by Satan's lies.
right, if God is correcting and teaching us, then isnt there our opart in that to accept the correction and change what He is correcting? or does He correct us and then obey for us as well? thats the difference. if we refuse to be corrected and continue on in disobedience ignoring That Loving Father then what happens?
you guys dont Get something really important. Sin is deadly it will Kill the spirit in us, we Know this already from the Garden through all of the examples all through the bible, the flood which doesnt make God " cruel" yet He destroyed all the people on earth and the animals saving only seeds of each Kind and 8 Humans to carry mankind on. The reason He did this was Because of sin. when God is teaching us what not to do, its Like telling your kid dont play on the freeway a car will run you over, or better its like telling your adult child, you absolutely Have to stop using heroin, it will kill you son, stop, i will pay for your treatment, but you have to be wiling to go to treatment and do the steps to get clean.
its not that sin is just a small principle like well when you get around to it, then repent if you want to. its Life and death. Jesus dying doesnt then mean sin is no big Deal its a sacrificial system of forgiveness that requires repentance. and because of the spirit, we no longer have the excuse " we cant change or were just slaves to sin we have no choice" yes, Jesus sets free of sins dominion over us thats what the gospel is and what it does for those who Hear and follow His Word of Life.
if the heroin addict refuses to go into detox and treatment and then they overdose and die or heroin destroys thier organs and they die, IT IS NOT THE FATHERS FAULT. He was there telling them every day, stop son youll die, ill pay for your treatment and take you into my Home when you are done. its not Gods fault if we follow sin to hell it just isnt. He gave Jesus to great suffering and death to pay for our freedom and Lives, we have to believe because if a person does they will then believe what He is saying and if they do theyll understand " Ok Hes saying i need to do these things and Hes saying Gods spirit is in me so i am able through His power to get off the heroin and come back to real life like when i was a child and clean, innocent"
God doesnt throw anyone away hes made the same offer, same provision for all men the difference is some will believe and therefore do and others will say they believe and think i dont really need to do what hes saying. God is the One who made the way for us and enables us daily to walk that path He laid out. if we do not follow we will not be saved well end up the dead guy on heroin that Loved the drug more than Life. sin is a powerful delusion and its also poison to the soul. its master is clever and comes up with a hundred ways why " its okay to go on in this, Gods good hell never Keep His word about sin being death" But His word will come to pass both blessing and warning.
God is not cruel in any way whatsoever, Hes given His Only begotten Son to the agony of the terrible day of the cross all His suffering all His pain and tears all the shame He endured each nail that held Him to the cross, thats what the price was for our " detox and treatment from sin" thats what God did for us. He has given all he will ever Give to pay that price its not going to happen another way or time. an now we have the option to either go into treatment and get clean, or we can disregard the offer and go on using sin. But assuredly without a doubt, to refuse the way provided will lead to eternal damnation. its fact. and God isnt to be blamed for those who refuse what He did, again He gave His dear Son His only Son for us. the way is sufficient the choice is ours.
