Maybe it's preventative maintenance?
maintenance provided by the oil of the Holy Spirit...rustproofing!
Maybe it's preventative maintenance?
Works will never be anyone's salvation. We are saved by the Blood of Jesus Christ.
Once we are on the Way, if we are without righteous works, we do not have living faith, for faith without
works is dead.
Our zeal by the Holy Spirit after havinng received Him within will not allow any who have
received the gift of faith to be still.
When we experience the joy of the infilling of the Holy Spirit pthere are definite indications. Righteous works given us by God, Himself, obedience as best possible, and constant learning in study of the Word in prayer and meditation.
How will any receive reward in the Kingsom without any works to show for that gift of faith. Faith is likeened unto gold int eh Word. I believe our faith is gold to our Father......we must increase its interest, right?
Not judgmental hostility..... just reminding the readers you're far from "innocent"![]()
There is no disagreement about living righteously, You have conjured that up in your head.
The disagreement is that salvation is dependent on this.
Ah, you make a very good point, as this point also exposes the false grace doctrine. The false grace message says sin (works of the flesh) still has dominion over you when you are born again of the Spirit and under grace.
But the true grace message says when you are born again of the Spirit and truly under grace sin shall not have dominion over you.
So when they say works do not matter, they also include the works of the flesh=sin in the whole mix of works as those that do not matter.
Sin is a work people, and sin does matter, that is also why Jesus came and was crucified.![]()
There is a strong HG false grace following here, so there is plenty to combat. Be strong, you are doing good. Peace![]()
There's a BIG difference between works getting salvation & works necessary to maintain salvation. The latter comes as a result of being changed & empowered by God. We can't boast of those, either.![]()
So you KEEP yourself saved by your works?
Jesus keeps me saved. He does not need my help.
this has become trench warfare...LOL!
with alot of barbed wire in between (opinions)
but you are right of course
Yeah, I would have to work overtime.![]()
Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Revelation 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
Revelation 19:8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness (works) of saints.
P.S. Beware of the babbling, upside-down folks. They try to turn right into wrong and wrong into right.
How can one possibly maintain salvation through works. Either Jesus died for your sins or He didn't. Works may be a manifestation of one's salvation but cannot be the cause of it.
I'm trying to help you by preventing further deflections on your part. I know my shortfalls and am prayerfully working on them. In a spirit of love I pray you focus on your shortfalls. That said, I'm proclaim our salvation does not hang in the balance; Jesus' mission is complete. Not judgmental hostility..... just reminding the readers you're far from "innocent"![]()
Your words carry much weight with me considering we crossed that bridge long ago. Thank you, dear sister, for your grace.oh come on now Stephen.....gathering stones for the judgement?
after our short fling at being civil, I see you write this kind of nonsense
seriously?

A sinner can perform righteous deeds..... wow. People can perform righteous deeds & NOT belong to God. Double-wow.
Where's the scripture that says THAT?
1John 2
28Now, little children, abide in Him, so that when He appears, we may have confidence and not shrink away from Him in shame at His coming. 29If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone also who practices righteousness is born of Him.
1John 3
4Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. 5You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin. 6No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him. 7Little children, make sure no one deceives you;the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; 8the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. 9No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother.
Are we gonna listen to G777, or to God's Word?
ONE-verse wonders.....
Why don't folks read the WHOLE BIBLE, instead of their cherry-picked favorite verses?
When folks depend on one-verse wonders, it should be obvious their lives are INCOMPLETE.
