It may be impart perspective. If a person is saved they will do good works but that is a result of their salvation and the Holy Spirit working with in them.
Are you producing good fruit with your judgmental hostility?I can't believe you fixed YOUR mouth to say that.![]()
Christ saves us through faith based on the merits of His finished work of redemption "alone" and not by the merits of our works.
It is through faith "in Christ alone" (and not by the merits of our works) that we are justified on account of Christ (Romans 3:24; 5:1; 5:9); yet the faith that justifies is never alone (solitary, unfruitful, barren) if it is genuine (James 2:14-24).
James does not teach that we are saved by works. His concern is to show the reality of the faith professed by the individual (James 2:18) and demonstrate that the faith claimed (James 2:14) by the individual is genuine. Agreed?
There's a BIG difference between works getting salvation & works necessary to maintain salvation.
Put him right with peter who said Christ work on the cross is not enough. And there it is. Works to "maintain" salvation IS works for salvation.![]()
And there it is..... another calculated lie to boost oneself up by tearing another down..... Just like the one who "liked" it.
Maintaining comes after God saves us, not before.
A car can run or not run.. how do you gauge the speed if it is? The speedometer.. likewise.. how can someone know if they are of the faith? Works produced... Glossing over works as a visual helps no one
There's a BIG difference between works getting salvation & works necessary to maintain salvation. The latter comes as a result of being changed & empowered by God. We can't boast of those, either.![]()
Teaching grace only, misleads.. that's all I'm combating
You maintain salvation by good works? There's a BIG difference between works getting salvation & works necessary to maintain salvation. The latter comes as a result of being changed & empowered by God. We can't boast of those, either.![]()
You maintain salvation by good works?
How much work does one need to have before they can be saved? None!
How much work does one need to keep salvation? Wrong question - works is not what keeps you saved!
Does not the bible call faith a work....and faith is also a gift...who is the Author and finisher of our FAITH....?
Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father
Where sin abounds....GRACE did much more abound.....the bible has a lot to say about grace........
In the GRACE you are, having been saved OUT OF FAITH and that NOT of YOURSELVES..it is the GIFT of GOD, NOT of works lest any man should boast.....
What is so confusing about that..........??
No this is wrong,
Teaching WORKS misleads. Because it states one can make it to heaven on his own merit, and works and grace are not something you can mix.
Not judgmental hostility..... just reminding the readers you're far from "innocent"Are you producing good fruit with your judgmental hostility?
