The truth of the Cross and our identifying with Him...is that we might live then in His resurrection power.
for those that walk after the Spirit of the law, and not after the flesh is there no condemnation..Don't leave those 16 words out it implies easy grace;..... To fear God is to have a unwavering reverence for His commandments, that's why Solomon said our only purpose in life is to fear God and keep His commandments..be blessed
All of us that are walking by the flesh from time to time are not living from their hearts in Christ - that is a gimmie!
( And no - our loving Father doesn't send us to hell or the lake of fire because we walk by the flesh - we will experience destruction of some form while in this earth whether we are living a homosexual lifestyle or exhibiting malice towards others or being jealous and envious, whether we are being deceitful in mis-representing what others are saying or the slandering of others in the body of Christ. )
Never confuse the flesh with the new creation that is in Christ - the inner man of the heart. We are not the flesh but in the spirit ( if Christ is in us - Rom. 8:9-10 ) but we are responsible with what we do with our bodies now.
This is why it is vital to learn how to walk "by" the spirit so that we don't fulfill the lusts of the flesh to do "it's" desires and experience the inheritance that is ours in Christ because we are His children.
What a blessing when the Lord comes and gives us new bodies that has no more the law of sin still in it. ( Rom. 7:23 )
true, but some do not see it this way, or water down God to be what he is not.But God isn't "others". God is GOD.Others don't matter..
I agree that is legalism and EG violently opposes legalism. Just as you violently defend Free will and the responsibility of individuals to choose between good and evil.
I am just showing you why I try and be very clear with my words.
Again folks may think me foolish but I see God moving with in both of you and others to defend against lies and false doctrines that are trying to sneak into the church.
You each have a different passion.
If we could all learn to work as a Body joined by Christ and His truth.....it scares the forces of evil. Why do you think they (forces of darkness unseen by fleshly eyes) twist what is said and understood to cause us to believe lies of what the other person says?
Because if we rejected their lies and stood together, they would have no place to hide...no shadows to whisper from.
I didn't judge them, they judged themselves to be sinners...What you speak of is what takes place in a season of Godly sorrow in the baptism of repentance no matter how long that might take, it is not the nature of a born again Christian who has already come clean with God in repentance..... The idea of one who continues in wilful rebellion but hates their sin is only taught by false prophets..Job hated sin and kept himself from sin..John said keep yourself from the evil one that he touch you not..Saved Christians are not sinners they are saints, sinners and saints are the complete opposite on every page of scripture...lest you are talking of sins of ignorance and debts that are dismissed in the Lords prayer....If the old man is dead he cannot sin, he can only sin if he is brought back to life..be blessed in your searching
To fear God under the new covenant an acute spiritual awareness, activated by the Holy Spirit, which compels you to approach God with honor, respect and reverence of who he is, and what he did for you; which will establish intimate relationship with him.[Rev 3.20]
When Satan reminds me of my sin and my past, I remind him of his future. There is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Satan is the accuser of the saints.
During the Passover, the families that had the blood of the lamb on their door post were spared death whether they sinned or not; Those that have the blood of Christ on their temple, will never die, but I cannot say the same for those that follow the accuser of the saints and the author of confusion.
What makes us saints is Jesus in our heart. All that have been covered by the blood of Christ are my family, and we stick together, because nothing can separate us from the love of Christ, and we know who we are on this forum and we enjoy the sweet fellowship of the saints. PTL
When we quote Scripture, it should be the Lord saying it at that time or we're not preaching Christ!
Amen Grace 777....
The Law does not pass away, but I pass away, and by death I am freed from the Law.
"Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead [have died] to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to Another, even to Him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God" (Romans 7:4).
To say we still have the moral law is again to diminish the work of Christ, we cannot half die, we die completely in Him to be raised completely in Him to a new life, new identity.
The Sermon on the Mount is legal in character and its purpose was condemnatory.
The commands in the dispensation of grace are such.... there are many but I think this really summarizes,
"As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, SO WALK YE IN HIM" (Col. 2:6)
When we walk in Him we have a love relationship, what law is there against love?
This is the correct lens in the dispensational age of Grace
.lest you are talking of sins of ignorance and debts that are dismissed in the Lords prayer....
you have not seem me go against Calvinism, I can get pretty nasty if I do not hold myself in check or someone does not get my attention, you could say I violently defend free will,
i just do do not consider it a doctrine worth dividing myself from other believers over,

Good stuff, yep, yep...did you ever think about this as well....
They had lamb in the house.....and they had the lamb in them.....the shed blood on the door posts forgave and delivered them and the lamb in them, brought them into newness of life....they had to eat the lamb with their sandals on, their staff in their hand sand packed and ready to go...it is the Passover...
What proves these "works and law" people are wrong is David who committed adultery and use murder as a cover it up; and yet, God considered him a man after His own heart; why? because God gave him is righteousness for the asking like God gives us for the asking through Jesus.Absolutely!!
To fear the lord is knowledge,,,,,,,,,, are you forgetting that scripture which seems to be the general pattern of the workers against... your the cake takers if you ask me..Fear has to do with punishment. That is Scripture! Why do you fear being punished? There is now no condemnation in Christ Jesus. That is Scripture also. If you want to do it your way, you will suffer. Better to believe the good bookPerfect love casts out fear...
Grace,
There is no "evolution".
Man's nature will never change.
There's nothing new under the sun.
With all our technology, WE are still the same as in Adam's time.
Jesus wanted a new "type" of person.
One with a soft heart and with both feet in the Kingdom.
Not easy to do.
And not every Christian has a soft heart.
It's noticeable right here on these threads.
Some are rather harsh and critical. Both on this thread and elsewhere.
I feel it's important to tell people that THEY must work on becoming more and more like Jesus.
The Holy Spirit is there to help, but will not do all the work.
If He did, why aren't we all the same??
I pray that God heals your asthma; my wife has it too, but we are healed with His stripes and His body was broken for our healing; be healed in Jesus name. If it is delayed wait for it; His delays are not necessarily denials. In the mean time, like Paul said "His grace is enough for us."You're a passionate guy EG...better than being lukewarm.
I have to stay calm or my asthma acts up.
I can pull out scriptures if needed but I will just state simply what I believe about the law.
1. It leads us to Christ (by showing us that we are sinners in need of a savior)
2. It keeps us from falling into Satan's traps, by warning of things that can spiritually damage us
3. It is meant to give us rest and peace and not to be used as a legalistic club to condemn people (example Jesus says the Sabbath is made for man and not man for the Sabbath)
Would you like scriptures? Do you get what I am trying to say?
You ass-ume an awful lot. No one here thinks sin is funny. It was a coffee joke, nothing more.. WAKE UP..
