Amen, It is great when God uses us, And helps build our faith also. I am sure meggido's faith was strengthened (at least I hope it was)

It was when he finally surrendered his work of the flesh...it broke my heart he had to surrender it by almost losing his life...
Many would suggest I was not helping him and many in that church said it was my fault he got beat up and nearly died....not so, Gal 6.7...
This is also why, like you and Bill I dislike Altar calls with people responding...especially in mega churches...
Wow. Speak about being demanding!
You say the thief on the cross HAD TO HAVE WORKS to be saved???
I hope I misunderstood...
at least you have the integrity to admit it Bill...
If I didn't could God use me?
I think not.

This is one of the most misunderstood gifts in the Bible... imputed righteousness is position not personal-performance
God can use ANYONE for ANY purpose that He sees fit to use them for..![]()

Whats rededicate? I've obviously missed the post.
I went to work this morning, (been a long one) come back to here tonight and another 75,000 pages have been added

Right. And I have to leave soon and by Tomorrow morning this thread will be up to page 850.
Re-dedication.
An altar call is to get saved.
Sometimes the pastor will let an altar call be for something we need from God, or sometimes to give Him special praise.
And sometimes an altar call is to RE-DEDICATE oneself to God.
Personally, I don't understand this. As far as I can understand, it has to be a person going to the altar who feels he has lost his salvation and wishes to come back to God.
Or maybe it was just someone who back slid, or sinned, and want to re-dedicate. Like, what do they think? That they'll never sin again?
So yeah, I don't really get it. But if someone needs it, it's OK by me.
IOW, they're re-enforcing their life to God.
Meggido you are an amazing person and I thank God for you.
The truth is that on what was his death bed he asked for you.
He he trusted you because you led him to truth that we have in Jesus.
What a privilege.
Jesus is greater than it all.
Whats IOW?
Alter call for salvation I get, although I don't think it's necessary.
In our church we do give that call and as ask people to come forward, but also say you don't have to, you can do it where you are.
Either way we do encourage to them to speak to come and speak to those entrusted to then talk to them.
I get what you are saying and I wouldn't knock someone who keeps coming forward.
I just feel that if its apparent then it's time to come alongside and see what's going on.
Thanks Bill,
it is not that I am right, it is just that God is never wrong...
IOW=in other words
Why are you Always talking about heathens?
No wonder I don't understand you.
Who is a heathen here?
Are you going to be god and judge AGAIN?
I thought everyone here was a born again Chrsitian...
And we're discussing doctrine...
Oh oh so it's not the Isle of Wight (little island south of England)
