A sad joke.
They are "too superiour" for the eternal secure gift Jesus offers.
They think they can prove their worth to receive salvation.
This mentality stands at the foot of the cross and states...."I can do better."

Of course one line from a parable that has a broader context why I expect any different from you.
Jesus is teaching about humility....it takes tremendous humility to know we are saved eternally, irrevocably and completely by Jesus....but the how would you know this?
By your own words, you add to the plan of salvation every day on this thread.
The irony is your "Perpetual Belief Salvation" which is my mental effort saves is really no Gospel at all.
Everyday I come on this thread and read your sad commentaries and you know what I think to myself ....
TRULY... I think... Thank you Jesus for bringing me someone on that fateful day in the university pub who knew the GOSPEL!!

the problem is our justification is not based on how sanctified we become
our justification is by faith based on Gods love, not based on me, if it were based on me, I would never be justified, because I am a sinner who has and continues to fall short of the glory of God (perfection) but praise to God i was.. well here, let me let the apostle Paul tell you, maybe you will listen to him
Rom 3: being justified freely, by his Grace, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
now look there what did paul say
Being justified - it is an ongoing process, not a one time event, it continues, even today, I am being justified
what is the cost?
Freely, in the Greek the word is Dorian. The word means without cost, as a gift, freely given without paying
by his grace - grace comes from the Greek word charis it is where we get our word charity from, it is where I think most people have a problem with grace based theology, or try to change the meaning of what grace really is, it is no cost to the reciever, free (well it is free to the believer, it cost Jesus things we will never comprehend) it is basically charity, and one thing I have learned about proud people, they refuse to take anything by charity, they demand to pay for it, and if they can’t pay they will reject it,
this is why Jesus said we must become poor in spirit if we want to enter the kingdom of God
the word poor comes from the Greek ptochus. Which means destitute of wealth, reduced to begging, we call this in our day bankrupt, totally broke, unable to even feed ourselves, no place to call home, sleeping on the streets or wherever they can find a place. Jesus said this is where we need to be, if we want to enter Gods kingdom.
if we want a picture of this, Jesus gave us a picture, the sinner (tax collector) who got on his knees, so ashamed of his sins he was not able to even look up, calling out on God to shew mercy (charity) like the poor and destitute man who lays aside his pride, who comes and falls on their knees asking for charity so he can feed himself or his family, and what did Jesus say?
that man went home justified,
That is what God has given me and I am offering to share with other people,
but since I do this, and it offends so many, I am shamed, cut down, told I love my sin, and hate God
well who really hates God? It’s not me, I did what he said I should do, I became poor in spirit, and God is reminding me every day how poor I am without him, and when I forget, he is quick to remind me

He certainly did attack me and OSAS believers in general and he did more than simply bawl us out. He basically had a meltdown and went on bitter, angry rant which involved statements of condemnation towards me and OSAS believers in general, yet we are the big babies?
It all started on March 18th at 5:28 am when I jokingly asked, "what happened to Dennis the Menace?" (nickname for Judges1318). Prior to that we had not heard from him since March 2nd. Then on March 18th at 8:00 am, he responded with a series of bitter, hateful rants!
Personally, I was shocked by his aggressive, personal attack on me and others in the OSAS camp (which up to that time was unusual for him) but his true colors emerged and have continued to shine through ever since. When I originally asked, "what happened to Dennis the Menace?" I had a feeling he was lurking on Christian Chat and that my post would flush him out and it worked! 2 1/2 hours after I posted that question, he suddenly reappeared. I explained to him that I was merely joking around when I mentioned the name, “Dennis the Menace.” Prior to that, I once jokingly told him that 'Dennis the Menace' should be his avatar name and he even laughed about it, but this time, he became belligerent.
So there was no backbiting scheme of the devil involved here. I was simply joking around and he took it personal and became very angry. His endless, relentless attacks on OSAS believers is really getting ridiculous and is just plain juvenile.
You’re adding to the word yet again as you cannot keep your bias out of it, you have to mitigate the meaning to arrive at your error.

Salvation in Christ however is not like this.
Believers in Jesus do not hold onto their own salvation rather it is God who holds salvation and keeps the believer.

Psalm 37:28 - For the Lord loves justice, And does not forsake His saints; They are preserved forever, But the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off.
1 Corinthians 1:8 - He will sustain/confirm/keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 1:5 - who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Jude 1:1 - Jude, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, To those who are called, sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ.

You know why this weak analogy came to your mind, because you think you hold onto salvation... it is in every word you write which is in fact the exact antithesis of scripture.
If I'm adding 'believing' to the gospel (that's funny), then so did Paul:
"2By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you." - 1 Corinthians 15:2
My unsaved son, who doesn't want to be saved, and doesn't care at all about the gospel was approached by a drunk in a bar one time who explained to him 'your' gospel. Even my son could see what a joke it was. My son pointed out to him how he was as drunk as he was and the guy said it didn't matter because he could do whatever he wanted and still be saved.
The Spirit of God can leave a person, or a thing, just as easily as He came in, and anytime He wants.
I can't believe the day is here when this is now called a works gospel:
"I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day." - 2 Timothy 1:12

And believe me it is a "works gospel" .. anything that needs to be done by a person to secure/keep salvation beyond the point of justification of the sinner is a works Gospel.
