1. 1 John 5:13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

The issue is not getting the talent to grow, to become something more.
The whole parable is about investing and working, not about believing.
So I fail to see how you can interpret judgement fell because of lack of faith.
But if you can explain how, I am all ears.
Is your interpretation to merely say non-believers are the only ones judged, therefore he must be an non-believer?
Jesus seems clear, you know what you have has value, so put it to work.
Of course some believers may deny the value of what Jesus has given us, so fall under judgement, but then surely that should encourage us all to value and work with the blessing Jesus has given us. Could any of the elect truly behave like this?
The eternal security view, suggests those not truly saved will never be, false believers, so why share or give them hope?
1 Thessalonians 5:11

Well considering we spend so much time talking about the basics of salvation, I can see why this would be a natural answer for you (and for most people). But that's a reason based on self-focus. I don't take away from the fact that it is incredibly important, but there is a better answer.
Romans 12
12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
This is a better reason for being born again. The fellowship that God had with Adam and Eve in the garden before the fall is a better reason for us to be born again. Its relationship, honour and worship, love and servitude.

The talents represent monetary value and are distibuted according to ability (vs. 15). The requirement is to invest in Christ. The first two servants deposited their money with the bankers (Matthew 25:27) but the third servant buried his money in the ground (vs. 25). The third servant had been given a talent and had the opportunity to believe and bear fruit in accordance, but had chosen to reject it.
The fact that the latter man in this parable is called "wicked" and "lazy" and "unprofitable" servant (Matthew 25:30) who is cast out into outer darkness, certainly indicates that he was not a true disciple of the master. The idea of this illustrative parable is that all true believers will produce fruit in varying degress. All believers are fruitful, but not all are equally fruitful (Matthew 13:23). Those who produce no results are not truly converted.
This man's characterization of the master maligns him as "reaping and gathering" what he had no right to claim as his own. This lazy so-called servant does not represent a genuine believer, for it's obvious he had no true knowledge of the master. Two of these servants were children of God, but not the third. Children of God are not cast out into outer darkness.
The fact that he is called a "servant" does not necessarily mean that he was saved. The children of Israel were called "servants" but they were not all saved.
Leviticus 25:55 - For the children of Israel are servants to Me; they are My servants whom I brought out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.
Isaiah 43:10 - “You are My witnesses,” says the Lord, And My servant whom I have chosen.. This is where we need to rightly divide the word of truth.
