The verse is very appropriate. It is not about good works, but about having a good heart that is right with God. May God bless you.Thank you..![]()

The context is justification through and through. He's warning them not to become slaves of the law (the old covenant) because SLAVES DO NOT SHARE IN THE INHERITANCE. Slaves are not in line for the inheritance, only sons born by faith are.
Galatians 4:30
"the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman’s son.”
That's how we know he isn't talking about them falling away from the growth of the believer in sanctification. The sanctification of the believer does not determine whether or not they possesses the inheritance (eternal life). Justification does.
If the discussion goes that way I'll share more about this matter of justification.
Free from the law O' happy condition. Is this a new method of biblical interpretation one verse out of its surrounding context
Read the entire passage ....the law does not justify.
Paul is not saying the law will unjustify.
Read on...." So brothers we are not children of the bondwoman but of the free.
Free..that is the status of the believer, it does not change.....Paul is telling them to live in their new status in the new covenant.
Yes, but we need to have a heart that is right with God as well. But then you know that. That good heart is Jesus.![]()

I'm staying completely in context. The context is justification. You are the one who jumped out of context and said it's about sanctification. Is this a new method of biblical interpretation one verse out of its surrounding context![]()
That is right. That is why Paul is warning the Galatians to not turn to the law of days, and seasons, and times for justification and away from Christ for justification. For if you do, Christ would become of no value to you (in justification--the context of the entire letter).Read the entire passage ....the law does not justify.
Then his warning of becoming slaves again (Galatians 4:9) is meaningless. For the context of the letter is justification.Paul is not saying the law will unjustify.
Yes, they are sons born as the result of the new covenant. Don't go back to being sons born as the result of the old covenant and the futile attempt to be justified by the law. Those sons, like Abraham's son Ishmael, have no part in the inheritance. That is his warning to them.Read on...." So brothers we are not children of the bondwoman but of the free.
AKA Liberalism.Amen
they prefer to live in a world of irrationality
Romans
I agree.Funny
I'd walk a kilometre for my love ..... definitely sounds like more of a put down!!
His name was Eli.
I have to wonder why people are condemning law keepers to hell in this thread for believing they must keep the law of days, weeks, etc. if it's true that since they believe in Christ they can't be condemned to hell by their law keeping.![]()
His name was Eli.HELI is the name in many our BIBLES. Eli is also spelled Heli.
Out of 12 Versions that I have open on my WORDsearch 10, only three have the name Eli, whereas the rest use Heli.
No, I haven't.
That post is over 2 years old.I cannot read your tiny print.
I cannot read your tiny print.
Funny thing....Jesus said none were good but God.......and yet he peddles this good heart deception......But hey....religion loves to twist the word of God for sure! That good heart is Jesus.![]()
No one keeps the law.....and that is what you cannot grasp......break the least = guilty of the whole...ALREADY GUILTY AND CONDEMNED.....I have to wonder why people are condemning law keepers to hell in this thread for believing they must keep the law of days, weeks, etc. if it's true that since they believe in Christ they can't be condemned to hell by their law keeping.![]()
Your point is not clear. Can you summarize this in a sentence or two and tell me why people in this thread are telling Festival and Sabbath law keepers who believe in Jesus that they are going to hell even though it is also being said by those same people that believers who seek justification through the law (assuming that's what they're doing) are still justified and saved? It is not about keeping the SABBATH. You are permitted to do so if you want, but you do it out of the WRONG MOTIVE. It is NOT to earn something, it is only about LOVING GOD.
Romans 14:5 (HCSB)
5 One person considers one day to be above another day. Someone else considers every day to be the same. Each one must be fully convinced in his own mind.
Galatians 5:14 (HCSB)
14 For the entire law is fulfilled in one statement: Love your neighbor as yourself.
WHY YOU ASK ? ? ?
Because Born Again Christians KNOW, the only pure motive is out of the LOVE HE HAS GIVEN US.
You do not SERVE to GET SOMETHING FROM GOD, OR to try to SAVE or Protect Something; You Serve because HE LOVED US FIRST.
1 John 5:3 (NASB)
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.
It is not a BURDEN only when it is DONE BECAUSE YOU LOVE HIM.
1 John 4:19 (HCSB)
19 We love because He first loved us.
Romans 5:5 (HCSB)
5 This hope will not disappoint ⌊us⌋, because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
2 Timothy 1:9 (HCSB)
9 He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.
Titus 3:5-7 (HCSB)
5 He saved us— not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
6 He poured out this ⌊Spirit⌋ on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 so that having been justified by His grace, we may become heirs with the hope of eternal life.
Romans 11:6 (NASB)
6 But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace.
Romans 4:4-5 (NIV)
4 Now when a man works, his wages are not credited to him as a gift, but as an obligation.
5 However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness.
If your Motive for Righteous Workings is NOT SOLELY BECAUSE YOU LOVE HIM, your selfish motives to try to earn HIS Love will FAIL.
WHY?
Ecclesiastes 7:20 (NKJV)
20 For there is not a just man on earth who does good And does not sin.
James 2:10 (NIV)
10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.
