I did not argue against saved by Grace through faith. I said, in effect, that I don't believe our faith is the EFFECTUAL POWER that regenerates us, God's power is. Maybe if I say it that way, you will understand.

John 6:44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.
Faith is coming to Jesus for salvation. But no one can do that unless the Father draws them. So there was energy from God expended BEFORE YOU BELIEVED. God was working on your salvation BEFORE you were born. AND if it was before you were born, it was before you believed!
