Good question, but very simple. It is a commandment of God and He asks us to keep the 7th Day Sabbath as a Holy day, just like he asks us not to lie or kill anyone or use His name in vain or worship idols etc. If we say that we are believers and following him and do not do what he asks us then we are not believers and not His followers because we do not believe His Word. I worship God everyday as well but God asks His people to keep the 7th Day Sabbath as a Holy day as is a memorial creation because it shows that we worship the God of all creation. This is the Lord's Day and Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath and the God of creation and it shows that we follow him (Gen 2:1-3; Ex 20:1-17; Mark 2:28)

That doesn't answer my question at all? I pointed to the word of God also. It is plain to see, we are the Church and our living sacrifice is the only true, reasonable and acceptable service of worship to God. So your Sunday or Saturday, or Friday or whatever day worship, is exactly that, just a worship of the day itself, and not of the God of the universe.
How is that not the whole story?
Do we BELIEVE in the Messiah or not?
If we BELIEVE in Him, should we not do what He asked (and asks) us to do?
Why do you and others FIGHT with those who WISH TO DO GOD'S WILL?
WHAT is wrong with doing God's will?

honestly that what I do most of the time. Holy Spirit remind me to love the poor, but my selfishness say No, you need this and that.
If you have 10 dollar, and you hungry, a poor come ask a bread. you have a choise. Go to burger King and buy yourself a Meal, do not have left over to help the poor, or go to dollar store buy a 2 dollar bread and, cheese and HAM, and have enough for both, the poor and me.
Some time I say Sorry to the poor, lazy me choose to go to burgerking and not enough money to help the hungered.

You have heard it said you must not murder but I say to you, if you are angry with your brother, you have already murdered him.
That is the 10 commandments in the NT, but with the added explanation that God looks into the heart and motives of a man.
That shows that it is IMPOSSIBLE to keep them, humanly speaking. You must not just keep them outwardly, but now inwardly?? Impossible! Is it possible to NEVER have anger rise up in me??
And so, is the solution to say that I am no longer under the law so I can murder? Of course not! We know the law is spiritual and good! When I abide (remain in trust), He causes me to BE law abiding in my inner man. He fulfills the law in me.
He didn't come to do away with the law and the prophets but to fulfill the law in us. (In spirit and truth, not in an outward display.) This new way is not to follow the law on the Sabbath by trucking myself to a building or by refusing to cook anything for my family on Sunday or Saturday. It is inward. It is spiritual, of the heart.

but if we believe Him, we also believe Him when He says that it is for the sake of His name that He saves, not according to what we have done, but according to His own promise to redeem.
surely in a thousand pages the whole strawman of "grace = disobedience & licentiousness" has been dealt with?

Nothing is wrong with God's will.
What is wrong is when people use the Bible to condemn others For not obeying their false understanding of scripture such as requiring people to keep the seventh day SABBATH or be labeled unbelievers.
It's legalistic and false.
It's not the whole story because although Adam and Eve did die. Just as Jesus did die. They have been resurrected for God is God of the living and not the dead.

Agape love is loving those who hate and abuse you. Forgiving others even when they don't deserve it.
Loving the poor and needy is easy. Even nonbelievers do that.
I agree it's a fruit of having the Holy spirit. My point is works aren't required to become a child of God but what happens after.

What does that mean - the cross is not enough to save?
The cross was for the shedding of His blood, for forgiveness of sins.
No more sacrifice or blood is ever going to be necessary for the forgiveness of sins.
But the cross will not save some people.
As for his confusion over the Sabbath, it's hard to stay consistently walking in the spirit. Yeah, we do go back and forth some and begin toward an outward keeping rather than an inward keeping. We are not perfect in knowledge. We advance in stages. He tells us what we are able to bear at any given time. He knows when we are ready to bear more.
But a man has to follow his conscience or to him, the thing IS sin. If you think something is wrong and you do it anyway, it IS sin. So we need to make room for a mans weaker conscience. God will lead him.
It is a classic example of finding yourself doing what you do not want to do. You agree with God what is good but you do the thing you think is bad anyway. Then it is being done, not with your agreement. Your spirit is willing but your flesh is weak. Then it is no longer you but sin in you that makes you to do what you don't want to do.
But you do the right thing. You admit it and this is walking in truth. You are truthful about it. You don't say: I help the poor, remembering all of the times you have, but you see your failing this time and you ADMIT to it. That is walking in the truth.
The one man said: thank you that I am not like these sinners. The other man said, I am a sinner, forgive me. It was the second man who was truthful and walked away justified by God because he admitted the truth. You are walking in the truth instead of trying to appear holy. You have endeared yourself to me by your honesty and by your walking in the light of truth. You have helped and encouraged me by your example. It's nice to meet you.

My heart is very deceitful. So the first thing I most often do when my disobedience is discovered is I look for excuses for it. I say things like...but a godly man leaves an inheritance for his childrens children, so storing money on earth is okay! Or like...but I HAVE to store treasure on earth or I'll be eating catfood in my old age! But mostly, I look for verses that are like, did God REALLY say and mean don't store treasure on earth...? I look for an "out" so I can continue in my disobedience instead of admitting it and getting the grace and help that I need.

No, it means I see that the gospel of the grace of God in Christ's work is being distorted and I am hoping you will one day see it too and stop trying to bring the law of Moses back into the Christians life.
Paul never stood for it and neither will others that believe and know the truth about Christ's work and that the Old Testament is a shadow of the real thing which is Christ Himself.

We are saved by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ - not by the law of Moses ( of which the 10 commandments are a part of just like Paul said in Rom. 7:7 ) or the keeping of the Sabbath day as outlined in the Old Testament. Jesus is our true Sabbath rest.
We are not in the O.T. but under a NEW Covenant and JESUS keeps his promises....you should try actual faith.......it "works"
Sponge is just like the Pharisees of old........no concept of grace, mercy and the eternal forgiveness found in Christ......he personifies a working for, sinless perfectionist dogma......which does not save, much less eternally!
Jesus sat with, ate with and associated with sinners, publicans and whores and was called a winebibber because he drank.....so....how does that fit your hard fast rule?

Grace is grace...it is divine, out bounds our sin, saves us/allows for salvation, is matchless and like I showed you yesterday, which you rejected it is a place of positioning for the believer....it is where we now STAND because of faith and salvation.......
