They were never just "a name." They were (and still are) the most controlling factor in this world system...... The people with all the real money. And a few people jumping up and down, harping about the existence, or non-existence of a particular "word" does not diminish their power and influence, one bit.
Than you must also agree that the Ten Commandments are still relevant. Rather than just trying to obey focus instead on humbly serving the Lord. It is hard to commit sin when your mind and thoughts are one serving God in your everyday life.

4So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God. 5For when we were in the realm of the flesh,[SUP]a[/SUP] the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in us, so that we bore fruit for death. 6But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code
