22 The day following, when the people which stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was none other boat there, save that one whereinto his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples were gone away alone;

23 (Howbeit there came other boats from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given thanks

24 When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus.

25 And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?

26 Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

30 They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?

31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.

32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.

35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

36 But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.

37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

41 The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.

42 And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?

43 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.

44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.

47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

48 I am that bread of life.

56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.

Jn 6:44

44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

First of all the drawing here and in Jn 12:32 are the same, the Father gave the Son to be lifted up, so Hes the first source, the Son is doing the Fathers will by drawing people to Him Jn 6:40

40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Now what does this drawing consist of ? Many believe that this drawing takes place as the one drawn may be kicking and screaming and resisting it, but that's not it at all . The reason why is because men naturally are dead in sin, our inability to come lies in that fact, no spiritual life and ability to come, no spiritual will to come/believe.

This drawing therefore springs from the eternal love of God for this people, Jer 31:3

3 The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

This drawing is by the Loving-kindness of God from everlasting

This loving-kindness is quickening

The same word is used in Ps 119:88

Quicken me after thy lovingkindness; so shall I keep the testimony of thy mouth.

So God finding His Elect fallen and dead in trespasses and sins in their adamic existence in the flesh, because of His Great Love and Mercy for them from everlasting, He quickens them, makes them alive Eph 2:4-5

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us[with everlasting love],

5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved)

Thats the drawing, Gods quickening us when we were dead in sin, its only then we are enabled to come and believe in Christ, otherwise no man can come and believe in Christ.

So the drawing of Jn 6:44;12:32 is quickening, from the source of Gods Mercy and Great Love in application.

That quickening Love that draws Spiritually dead and depraved sinners to life in Christ, enabling them to believe, its from everlasting and grounded in a eternal union the elect had in Christ before the world began Jn 17:23-24

23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

They had a election in Christ before the foundation of the world, indicated here Eph 1:4

4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

Remember these chosen here are the same ones said to be quickened in the next Chapter of the same epistle Eph 2:4-5


4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;

All of Gods chosen in Christ are Loved with an everlasting Great Love and will be drawn, quickened from the dead in sin state, and given Faith in Christ, thats the only way they can and do believe in Him.
