Welp, it's already 2024 for those of you on the other side of the pond. I meant to post this before 7pm EST (0:00GMT) but alas it is now 7:27pm.

Still...wooo for you :D

For myself I'm actually going to miss 2023, I thought it'd seem pretty unbalanced on paper but it grew on me quite a bit.

*sigh* I don't feel ready for a New Year. I may start school and move at the beginning of the calendar year so there is that, just a lot of changes coincidentally in a couple weeks.

Post if you'd like or if you do the resolution thing and want to share about it...What are you doing for the final evening of 2023?

I have resolved to make no New Year's resolutions. This resolution breaks itself.

With the making and breaking of resolutions out of the way, I am free to enjoy New Year's eve.

2023 has been a rough one .. So many things lost.. I cling tonight to the old rugged cross. And I pray, Lord. I surrender .. that I unreservedly ... simply , finding my way Home.. to my First Love.

I will turn 60 this year. Not overly joyous about that milestone.

I'm also reticent to make any "resolutions" or goals, because so much seems up in the air right now (i.e., not good), and I have little optimism that God's going to lift that any time soon. Of course that's just a feeling, not founded on anything more reliable.

Oh, I'm personally just did a fire for a bit, retrospective/contemplative, rec, etc. Pretty nice night and everyone happens to be out.

I'm not sure what to make of New Year's resolutions and they've felt like some sort of weird thing but there does seem to be some psychological value in a fresh shiny New Year "unspoilt" as far as technicalities go.

Maybe akin to freshly fallen snow with no footprints?

Not a big thing but it's a little "nudge" to make an extra effort for some and I don't think there's anything wrong with that but I guess I'll see. Someone I know mentioned they wanted to make some for the first time in decades and I think God can operate within that if we are willing. Obviously there are things to be careful about and it's really just another day.

Really though if you are making a commitment on New Years I'm wondering if hinging it on a particular day is well thought out because it seems like a recipe for potential failure for a few reasons. I digress. Might be a good thing to discuss at some point. Still Rm. 8:28

I've been given the advice that I should help people less fortunate than myself. It sounds trite when said that way but I did feel a gripping in my heart when they said it. Actually two people said it in different ways. It was NOT meant financially. I think quite a few problems we have are sort of "armchair" problems and dissipate when we are actively serving in a capacity that we feel comfortable with/amenable to. There does come a point that if we don't pour out the way God wants us to, some errors begin to pile up it seems.

I know it will help me get my focus off myself and my own "issues" with the Lord and perhaps it will help you as well. The how is something of another matter but, indeed, that may that's part of the reason for the rut perhaps?

2023 was probably the worst year of my life. Going into 2024 those same things are still ongoing, so not too promising.
As far as what I'm doing, hanging by myself while my dad is in the hospital. He may be home tomorrow though.

Yeah, well... That's future me's problem.

It's all good though. I'm sure future me will be very responsible and he can handle it super easy, barely an inconvenience.

I'm about 1 1\2 years away from that milestone.

We must endeavor to go forth or something like that.

No choice, but I still dread it. Yeah, I know we got glorified bodies coming up, but that does not negate the reality of what we have to go through before that happens.

That was unexpectedly amusing. I liked the mustache glasses switchback...took me half the video lol.

Oh right...yeah pretty inconvenient doing it over Xmas and well also New Year's eve...but Jan 1st!!!!

Maybe people should try the tiniest step possible that seems almost "too easy" and go from there.

Things turn out as expected?

Idk, each season feels worse by comparison to me but if I'm honest I find I'm more mature/stronger and can handle stormier weather.

I definitely had some low points this past year and if nothing else, I can look forward to S.A.D not being a thing 6 months from now.

It certainly feels like treading water with each day bringing new muscle tone and bigger waves. Not exactly fun per se but I reached a sort of equilibrium with it I suppose.

Cya around.

Today he entered physical rehab for 20 days.

SAD has never really been an issue for me. I enjoy winter more than summer, actually. But I'm very familiar with depression and thus know how it feels.
If you deal with SAD try a sun lamp. A friend of mine had it and used one and she said it made a big difference.

I get the notion of maturing. I feel as though I've done so in the past few years. But stronger? I'm not so sure about.

No new muscle tone here, just exhaustion.

Happy New Year @Mii and everyone 🎉🙏♥️

When the clock pointed its hands to 12:00 am January 1 2024 I immediately went up closed my room and prayed I didn't make a resolution ☺️ I said thank you Lord for everything and for the chance you are still giving me to do better 🙏♥️

2023 was not easy but I am grateful to God ♥️

December 2023, although we spent almost a month in the hospital two of my sisters gave birth to 2 adorable baby girls 🙏♥️

2024, January 2 again my brother and my nephew(in-law) were rushed to the hospital by an ambulance they hit a bus while driving a motorcycle....my nephew was unconscious and woke up inside the emergency room. He broke his arm and hurt his leg .
Next to him was my brother he was conscious but needed to get a surgery on his head...we all rushed to the emergency... The good thing is they survived praise God despite of the motorcycle's damage.

Today my nephew will going to be discharged already... my brother came home 2 days ago.

praise God everything is ok now... 🙏☺️

Soon, few days from now is my graduation day 🎉 finally yay my professional journey has been a great source of learning for me, the ups and lows sleepless nights, tears, disappointments and the times that I have almost given up already ahhh praise God I never did ☺️ I don't know what's the plan of the Lord but I am so grateful to God.

No resolutions just grateful and praying for strength for 2024 🙏♥️🎉

Yeah I may have to do something besides trying to eat foods with vitamin D. I'll look into a sun lamp, I appreciate it.

Perhaps I'm being optimistic about being stronger but it's the bright side of a stormy season, lot of pressure and maybe some healing in the works... I haven't ever felt like I needed it but since I keep having somewhat disconnected people bring it up in different ways...

Anyway, maybe physical rehab will exceed expectations. It did for my Mom to the point where the memory of her even going through it is rarely recalled. Usually works alright for me to just "wait and see" but sometimes the gloom I have to wrestle against with positive counters of some kind.
