"Guard the heart"
"Guard your heart" means being vigilant about your thoughts, feelings, and the influences you allow
into your life because they shape your character and actions. It involves being mindful of your emotions,
avoiding harmful influences, and cultivating a life aligned with your spiritual or moral values.
The phrase originates from biblical wisdom, famously found in Proverbs 4:23,
"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it".

Funny, I was just thinking about Popeye and spinach yesterday evening. I fully agree with your counsel.
Welcome. Talk to God a lot. Start your day with Jesus. Study God's word. Start with the New Testament. There is a lot that seems confusing. It's ok. We were all beginners at some time. Be patient with yourself. Don't be afraid of failure. That's how we learn.
