Hello all! I figured the first post should be here. Believer, church member, husband and father. Looking to meet like minded brothers and sisters for friendship and discussions.

Probably…. I mean we all tie back to Noah somehow, right?
Yes, that is oh so true! That was a fave show way back when... do you know of it?Probably…. I mean we all tie back to Noah somehow, right?
I don’t… but the hairdo looks a lot like the ones I seen in my mothers high school yearbook!Yes, that is oh so true! That was a fave show way back when... do you know of it?
I have just been reading up on the show, That Girl, because although I know I watched it and enjoyed it,I don’t… but the hairdo looks a lot like the ones I seen in my mothers high school yearbook!
I have just been reading up on the show, That Girl, because although I know I watched it and enjoyed it,
I really don't remember much about it, but apparently, it was groundbreaking, because it was about a
single young woman and not a June Cleaver or Lucy Ricardo... pre-dating the Mary Tyler Moore show,
which was a spin off from the comedy series known as The Dick Van Dyke Show. Yes. I am that old LOL

That is a lovely way to think of age... and I am still a teenager as a Christian .I wouldn't say you are old. I like the term "Seasoned"... brings an air of sophistication and demands respect...![]()
I took "seasoned" from my mother, I thought it was a great way to see things. She has been through so much and still prays and trusts the Lord. She is an inspiration. Her parents, my grandfather and grandma, died a few years back. I am looking forward to seeing them again... I remember when I was a kid, spending the night at their house... I would see them kneeling by the bed together praying... I can still hear my grandfathers voice in my head, praying for his whole family...I still remember singing in the choir with my grandfather out of the old red back hymnal on Sunday Nights at church... wonderful memories. That is a lovely way to think of age... and I am still a teenager as a Christian .![]()
It really is lovely to have wonderful memories of heart-warming family times together... my mom's parents were both gone by the time I entered this world, and gosh, now that I think about it, I cannot really recall what age I was when my paternal grandparents passed, though I do remember both of them... they had a dozen children and my own father had eleven, as large families were a thing back then, and I do have quite a lot of very fond memories of family times, visits, Christmas dinners, Thanksgivings, summer picnics, etc,. and regular Sunday afternoon drives to the country to visit my mother's only sister and her family. Ah! The sweetness of life lingers.I took "seasoned" from my mother, I thought it was a great way to see things. She has been through so much and still prays and trusts the Lord. I am not rich. But I have a rich heritage, and am blessed beyond measure. For that I am very thankful.

I was born in the mid 70s, but I have had the discussion with my wife that I would probably have been better suited (according to me anyway) to be born in the 30s or 40s. It seemed like people were closer, and life was easier. I always gravitated to TV shows like the Waltons and Litte House on the prairie... I'm the only crazy person in my neighborhood (...maybe the inspiration for my username...) that grows a garden and cans my own food. I am a ham radio guy. I could really do without the cell phone. And I think its a shame (although necessary in this day and age) that in a lot of churches, there is an armed security team. I miss family get togethers for the holidays. I miss the fact that most every business would shut down on Sundays...It really is lovely to have wonderful memories of heart-warming family times together... my mom's parents were both gone by the time I entered this world, and gosh, now that I think about it, I cannot really recall what age I was when my paternal grandparents passed, though I do remember both of them... they had a dozen children and my own father had eleven, as large families were a thing back then, and I do have quite a lot of very fond memories of family times, visits, Christmas dinners, Thanksgivings, summer picnics, etc,. and regular Sunday afternoon drives to the country to visit my mother's only sister and her family. I was raised RC and departed the church as a teen, but Christmas time was always special, and I have always loved
the carols... even as a non-beiever, I would heartily support and partake of singing such tunes at that time of year.
Thank you! It is always a pleasure to connect with a newcomer after greeting them, though I rarely say much of anything beyond my panel, unless they are a new Christian or seeking direction, in which case I have some pointers... the gospel of John (word-for-Word movie), and some Alpha Course videos, notably. But I do enjoy speaking about certain family matters. My closest sister and I speak about all manner of things, including how digital has changed the landscapes of our lives... she is quite challenged trying to navigate online let alone having to use a cell phone, which she did get just very recently, and people wanting your email address all the time, and all the scammers and junk mail/spam etc etc. My daughter gave me my first cell phone almost four years ago just prior to my first cancer surgery (all is well in that regard), but I have been online for 24 years now, and as a Christian, since 2007, when I stumbled into the religion forum of myspace, where I stayed for four years talking mostly to non-believers of various stripes, until the site was revamped after being sold. Oy, that was just when fakebook was on the rise, and even it has seen better days, and so many other sites have come and gone in the meantime. After myspace shut everything down, I went to CARM for about four years, and then discovered Christian Chat in 2015, and it has been my home since then. I hope you likewise feel at home here. It can be a bit crazy just like family life LOL. Oh, we did lots of canning and preserves, too! My mom was great for stuff like that. She was pretty amazing, which I did not appreciate as much as I should have when I was young.I was born in the mid 70s, but I have had the discussion with my wife that I would probably have been better suited (according to me anyway) to be born in the 30s or 40s. Before you know it, I may be screaming "Hey you, get off my lawn" at neighborhood kids.
Its been a pleasure to talk back and forth with you. Have a blessed Day!
