Welcome to CC!

Consider this simple truth: God, the creator of the universe, is good, and He loves you.

There’s much more to the story, but that’s a good place to start. :)

Your spiritual status says "unsure." Is this part of the crossroads that you alluded to? Do you have questions about God? The Bible? Eternal life? If you do, then please ask them.

As you asked I will try and tell. This isn’t the top and bottom of everything but where I am.
I’m not here because of the bible or a religious reason. Just because I want a Christian perspective.
Normal married life with a child up until a few years ago. Became very ill but worked through it in both ways. Just before Christmas last year I came into some money which meant at 41 my mortgage is paid off and enough money to not work. After a few weeks I was looking for a new job because I couldn’t sit around. Not going back to my old job. Want something new. Cut out all of the negative people from my life which is most. But now at the crossroads of what to do. I just don’t know what to do. I have applied for work but nothing yet.

From a Christian perspective, I would encourage you to ask God what to do next through prayer. Not just in relation to your next possible job, but in relation to your life in general. Ultimately, God knows what is best for us, but you would need to be willing to submit to his direction...whatever that might be.

Yes that’s what I mean. I didn’t know about which direction life is going to go.

:)

Each individual is caught up in their own life circumstances.
"Scripture alone" means that the Bible is the sole and ultimate authority for Christian belief and practice,
with no other source, like tradition or church teachings, holding equal weight; essentially, each individual
is to rely on the Bible alone to interpret their faith and guide their actions.

'To guide one's "actions" and this surely does not include relying on worldly foolishness from those who
are spiritually "bankrupt".

This brings to my mind the following words of Solomon.

Pro 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Pro 3:6
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

We all come to points in our lives where we do not know what to do next. At those times, we need to lean not unto our own understanding, which is limited, at best. Instead, if we trust in the LORD by acknowledging him, then he will direct our paths. Personally, I am at crossroads like this almost daily in one form or another, if not daily.

Anyhow, I will say a prayer for you that God gives you direction for your life.

I understand, but seeing how you are here, and seeing how you have listed your spiritual status as "unsure," may I ask if you have ever wondered about what will happen to you when you die? In other words, do you believe in an afterlife? Heaven and Hell? Eternal life versus eternal damnation?

Seeking direction for this temporal life is fine, and I literally do the same myself on a daily basis, but seeking direction regarding eternal life versus eternal damnation is of much greater importance.

Jesus said:

Jhn 5:28
Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
Jhn 5:29
And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Jesus forewarned of only two possible resurrections for all of us.

1. The resurrection of life.
2. The resurrection of damnation.

Do you believe this?

Have you prepared yourself for the day of Christ's judgment?

As a Christian myself, I would be remiss if I did not take this opportunity to ask you such questions out of genuine concern. Hopefully, you understand.

I have never really thought about it. There has been so much going on in this life until recently. It’s something I will look into and think about. Faith is something I’ve never had before but speaking to people on here shows there is some nice people left

Life can be very distracting, but we do need to seriously ponder what awaits us beyond the grave.

Solomon said:

Ecc 9:12
For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them.

A fish can just be swimming along, as it does every day, and then, suddenly, it is taken in a net, and killed.

A bird can just be flying around, as it does every day, and then, suddenly, it is caught in a snare, and killed.

A person can just be moving about, as one does every day, and then, suddenly, they are taken in an evil time, and killed.

Just a couple of weeks ago, one of my nieces died in a car accident. She was just driving in her car, as she always did, and then she hit a patch of ice, and her car swerved out of control, bounced off of a guardrail, spun around, and then she was hit head on by another vehicle, and she died instantly.

Approximately 150,000 people die every day, and none of us know the day of our deaths, but we do need to prepare for the same while we are yet alive.

If you ever want to know what the Bible has to say about why people die, or why we need to obtain eternal life through Jesus Christ, or why Jesus Christ said that we must be born again in order to inherit the kingdom of God (John 3:3, 5, 7), then I would be happy to have any of those conversations with you.

1Pe 1:23
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
1Pe 1:24
For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
1Pe 1:25
But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
