hi truth... yes, the believer is allowed to judge righteous judgment, right. For a long time i didnt know abt politicians in the south becauze we had nothing to do with them anyway, so mostly those in the senate, and local (Luzon at least) personalities ang kilala ko. The first time i heard abt duterte was abt his link w./ eliminating bad people in their parts (mindanao) and i cannot really say much on that.
Btw u have not been introduced or welcomed.. so drop by they new members forum.

Yes, i dont know how he jokes about that... No one mentions the other presidentiables, and who would it really be? Roxas, Poe, Santiago... Btw, i notice not many of oldtimer pinoys on cc do not come in often now. Sana u tell what u think too.

Anyway, there was this old clip from the Manila bulletin i came across entitled A Call to Service. I am trying to retrieve the article but somehow cannot yet, but it mentions Cam. Sur Rep. Leni Robredo, widow of the late DILG chief Jesse Robredo, who now runs for vp. I understand how she can be proud of her late husband, his ethical, effective and empowering leadership. Sec. robredo's tsinelas (slippers) leadership is essentially servant leadership.
 
In fairness to the other candidates hardly mentioned, let me post some on them when i can. Filipinos at home read and hear enough i suppose, but for those abroad: (Elections are on May 9)

MANILA, Philippines - Despite dismal ratings, Malacañang remained optimistic that the administration’s standard-bearer Manuel Roxas II still has a fighting chance in a tight presidential race due to his steady increase in the surveys.
Undersecretary Manuel Quezon III of the Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office said voters were getting to know Roxas slowly but surely, like in the last presidential debate and the way he would answer issues involving his candidacy.
Commenting on the latest Pulse Asia survey on presidential candidates released on Friday, Quezon said the results showed it was a statistical tie among Roxas, Vice President Jejomar Binay and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.
“So what this tell us is that the race has tightened. Everyone is tied … No one can really be said (to be) in a major lead because the difference with other candidates is close,” Quezon said.
 
It is only 48 days before elections here, and if no one can post something abt it, please pray for the coming elections.. people getting to know who, and voting the right persons.
 
I'm voting for Duterte with prayers that God will use him to clean all the other corrupt politicians in this country. If he does clean the country of corruption then the country will benefit if not then everything would most likely stay the same. Either way, it is still not decided who will be winning this election. So pray and believe that God will place someone who'll be a great leader over this country.

Righteousness exalts a nation. In the same way, Lee Kwan Yew, Singapore's first PM, I truly believe, was able to bless Singapore because he chose to help the Israelites (and Singapore still does this today). I am really really excited to see this election. And, needless to say, there is a lot to pray for (praying and believing for no death this election, no bloody encounter and no power interruption and that the people's unity will be strength for the rest of us to rise up to righteousness).

Thoughts on this my fellow countrymen?

Also, what do you think about Philippines having a federal government?

Idk just now I will say I cannot vote for him for various reasons. Thanks na rin arbie... will u help post more even on senators abt what u may know that others do not but find helpful? tnx.
 
Gender is not important in changing our country. Someone who can lead the masses to change for the better and get rid of corruption from the inside out should be the focus. The article is pretty biased but if you do try to understand the point of the author you will see that it is about international affairs and policies more than anything. Although there is truth in this idea the main problem is still corruption.

How can a country successfully implement these policies if the country itself is plagued with corrupt politicians? It is common sense to first look into the internal problems before going into international issues. Matthew 7:5 would almost be a perfect example for this situation.
