Rev 17:18 And the woman that you saw is the great city which has dominion over the kings of the earth.”

Rev. 18:1 “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great!
It has become a dwelling place of demons,
a haunt of every foul spirit,
a haunt of every foul and hateful bird;
3 For all nations have drunk[a] the wine of her impure passion,
and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her,
and the merchants of the earth have grown rich with the wealth of her wantonness.”

Rev 17 & 18 speaks of this great city. Rev 18:24
And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints,
and of all who have been slain on earth.”

Very similar to Rev. 11;8--8 and their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which is allegorically[a] called Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord was crucified.

Rev. 11:49 Therefore also the Wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and persecute,’ 50 that the blood of all the prophets, shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation, 51 from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechari′ah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary.

Matthew 23:37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, killing the prophets and stoning those who are sent to you! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not!

Sad but the great city called Babylon is Jerusalem

Disagree. I actually just posted this in another thread:

"Sigh. That's an interpretation that goes back 2,000 years and did not age well. In a sense, you could say the NWO is a spiritual descendant of Rome, but can you really say that Rome fulfills all the following?

-Pollutes her land
-Kills her own people
-Wealthy consumerist nation
-Peoples of the world flow into her (immigration)
-Immigrants come to perform manual labor for her
-Rules over the kings of the Earth
-Deceives the nations with her sorceries (pharmakeia)
-Merchants of the world do commerce with her
-Is God's battleaxe and weapons of war, used by God to lay waste to the nations
-Made the whole world drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication (originator of the sexual revolution, main producer of porn)
-Guilty of the blood of children
-Ascended to the heavens
-Will be destroyed by civil war and then fire
-Contains a large population of Christians whom God tells to flee
-Contains a large population of Jews
-Has a wall which will fall

The Bible has a lot to say about Mystery Babylon. When you combine everything that Revelation, Isaiah, Daniel, Jeremiah say about her, it's obvious we aren't talking about ancient Babylon. It's also not Rome, unless you think Rome is going to rise again to be a world superpower."

Disagree...

"That's an interpretation that goes back 2,000 years...
Once you throw out the Holy Spirit inspired identity of "the city, the great one" as Jerusalem (for this indeed was where our dear Lord was crucified), you've gone down the dangerous road of intellectual and spiritual dishonesty...

I am not saying I agree with your views or disagree. But generally, it comes down to 7 Mountains [Rome] vs 7 hills [Israel]. I would like to add, for the fun of it, what mountains the USA have.

  • Great Smoky Mountain Range.
  • Green Mountains.
  • Longfellow Mountains.
  • Blue Ridge Mountains, USA.
  • White Mountains.
  • Berkshires.
  • Hawaii, Oahu [Walanae/Koolau] Mountains
USA technically has 7 Mountain Ranges!

I think you and the OP are conflating Scripture passages.

Blood of the prophets are only found in Jerusalem

Luke 11:50 that the blood of all the prophets, shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation, 51 from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechari′ah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary

Woe to you! for you build the tombs of the prophets whom your fathers killed.

Completely incorrect.

Look at the context. Jesus is talking about bloodguiltiness. The generation who saw Him are guilty of the blood of all the prophets if they reject His witness.

Are you seriously suggesting that every prophet ever killed literally died in Jerusalem? You are just plainly incorrect. Abel, for instance, who is one of the listed persons in the very verses you quote died before Jerusalem was even established. John died at Patmos. Many other prophets died outside of Jerusalem.

Think before posting please.

Satan is always quoting Scripture, but twisting it for his own narrative. I take the Scriptural commandment to "try the spirits" very seriously. But I do think we are at an impasse if you cannot read my last comment and clearly see where you have erred in the post I responded to.

Consider that Abel was killed in the location which a future temple would stand, and no No recording of John dying at Patmos.

Matthew 11:13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John;--these were the ones Jesus were talking about

Had a look at your book, found it a real work of fiction... especially chapter 5!

You're saved 5 years and you think you have the spiritual ability and maturity to write extensively on The Revelation of Jesus Christ... Your arrogance knows no bounds!

There are a number of levels of understanding to take into consideration when reading scripture. The lowest level being the literal one. The Holy Spirit teaches us which we should use in any verse or passage. Babylon was both a literal City and a symbolic representation of pride and unbelief. In Revelation it is seen as the opposite of the heavenly Jerusalem. In context a faithless unbelieving Jerusalem is described as Babylon the Great. This part of scripture stems from Daniel where Nebuchadnezzar actually calls his City Babylon the Great and ended up living like a Beast for seven years. Dan 4. Other references in Daniel includes a statue that he orders people to worship. So the worship of the Beast and his image are also found in Revelation.
