I came across this audio bible series recently, and my kids and I absolutely love it. I think it's one of the best I've seen on YouTube so far. There's a real tranquil element to it that's really important to me in absorbing the scripture. It also helps that the words are on screen.... do you guys use audio bibles? I'd love to hear what your favorites are...

I have computerized books and bibles that I can read audibly while reading visually. Or just audibally. They say you grasp more using both by doing this.

i am one of those that say so. the more of your senses you involve in a thing, the better it is ingrained.

hearing a lecture on geometry, you learn what a dodecahedron is.
hearing a lecture, and seeing it written & drawn on a chalkboard, you learn better.
hearing a lecture, seeing it diagrammed, and copying the notes, drawing it yourself, you learn better still.
and now if you also set about making a dodecahedron yourself - scribing the angles on metal plates, cutting them, fitting them together and welding them in place, holding it in your hands - smelling the flux of the welding process, feeling the coolness of the steel in your palm - you know even more well, the geometry.

so it is with wisdom of God -- hearing it, seeing it, doing it - putting it into practice, feeling and tasting it: the more you submerge yourself into it, the deeper you understand it.

tell me about knowledge, and i will comprehend it. show me, and i will see it more clearly. but teach me to do it, and i am on the path to mastery of it. :)

Yes i can see great value in Audio Bibles.. But even the best delivery system is very limited if one does not have the Holy Spirit giving one understanding.. He is the ultimate delivery add-on.. :) And it is of great value to ask for the Helpers help..

John 14: KJV

26 "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."

This voice is nice... I've never come across it before, but I like what they did with the imagery. It's interesting...
I recognize it as belonging to Max McLean :D You can listen to him on biblegateway.com where he narrates ESV, KJV, and NIV :)
