Googled Avatar Hindu. Looks like incarnation of a deity (Hinduism). Regarding internet forums it is your icon/representative of your name. Guess the latter was "borrowed" from the former. I didn't know that. hmmm
Among things He is called, He is the "image of the invisible God". Yet, I'm reluctant to say avatar, simply because the term is used frequently to convey more than one meaning. Jesus/Yeshua/Son of the Living God...He's unique, one of a kind. I dare not say avatar.Yep ,,,So is Jesus an Avatar?

I read the O.P. again. My eyes always glaze over whenever reading a person's take on Father/Son/Spirit. I just read the Word, that's good enough for me.Me either,,,I believe God but in fact I think that this is the very question the O.P. will boil down to...
Sleep well friend.Good night Karr,,,,sweet dreams
What is your understanding of a being vs. a person?
I'm using the word person, as a whole, such as you are a person, and the word being, like that of an entity with its own thoughts and intents, yet a part of the whole.
That is what I was shown.
God is three beings in one person, even as there are three beings in you, the person. God is no different.
In fact "avatar" is a Hindu concept, which claims that many men have become manifestations (incarnations) of the one true God. Hindus do not reject Christ as an "avatar" but they do not see Him as the sole manifestation of God. Indeed according to Hindu scriptures, there are 10 million gods!Yet, I'm reluctant to say avatar, simply because the term is used frequently to convey more than one meaning.
Bluto I see you are still on line. Would you indulge an old granny and tell me why you always put an "eek" at the end of your posts? Thank you if you answer, and if you don't well nevermind.
Ok know! Being is defined as having existence. Such as an object, an idea, or a symbol, that exists. God exist, period. Person is all the qualities or attributes constituting one that exists; ones nature or essence, or personality.
So there is only one being of God that exist, not three beings of God. And this one being God chose to manifest Himself as three distinct persons. Now I'm going to throw you a little curve here by asking "Is God considered a person?" I do not believe that God is a person "as we are." I believe His personhood is like ours for we are created in His image and after His likeness.
What we do as humans is assume a conception of God that is limited to that of a creature (a created being confined to the created dom ain of time and space) like Himself. God is not a creature in time and space like all of us and is not limited to the parameters that He called into existence out of nothing. God, as the necessary first cause of all creation is totally unique and transcendent over creations and should not rightly be compared to His creatures, i.e us. Does this make sense? I'm not trying to confuse you but the bottom line is that God exist as one being who manifested Himself as three distinct persons and not three beings.

Now bluto, you are starting to come my way of thinking. My objection to the teaching of the trinity is three persons. A label. An inaccurate label. Next, someone say three distinct anythings, persons/entities: again inaccurate. Try to remove the Holy Spirit from the Father or Jesus. If you could would they still be God? I still say calling God a trinity is an oversimplification, the finite trying to understand the infinite. If a person is oneness or trinitarian, there are even dualizations: they can still have salvation if they have Jesus. The one name, the gate to life everlasting.![]()
Thanks for the reply. Glad I asked. No problem granny! When I saw it for the first time quite a few years ago I looked at it and to me it was a way to make me think about what the person posted. In other words, eek/eeks means to me, "I better pay attention to what is written," that's all.

No deade, you and I do not think alike. For example, you just said, " If a person is oneness or trinitarian, there are even dualizations: they can still have salvation if they have Jesus." What you don't understand that oneness pentecostals have a different Jesus than the one that the Bible teaches. In fact, they even have a different "gospel" than what the Bible teaches.
2 Corinthians 11:4-6, "For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have accepted, you bear this beautifully," In other words, the part that says "you bear this beautifully" means "You might go along with it."
So would you kindly tell me if Jesus Christ is God the Father? Yes or No? Is Jesus Christ the Holy Spirit, yes or no? This is what oneness Pentecostals teach and that is what makes them have a "different" Jesus. In regards to the differenct gospel oneness teach, it is a "works" gospel. You have to be water baptized by them only. You have to speak in tongues to be saved. They are also extremely "legalistic in their theology. So again, tell me deade do agree with their teachings?
IN GOD THE SON,

I would have to say that I can be three things at once myself.
1. I'm a Father
2. I'm a Brother
3. I'm a Husband
Now all three of these are me... in one...
Now I don't even begin to understand this, as I am just a mere man and cannot split myself into three different persons, but God can. God can do anything. Three distinct persons, but one; just as me!
1. God is God
2. Jesus is God
3. Holy Spirit is God
Get? Got it? Good!
