Regarding the English names we use today for days of the week, we can also see the influence of the Anglo-Saxons and the old German gods. For example, Wednesday comes from Woden, the Anglo-Saxon king of the gods; in Saxon, the name is Wodnesdaeg. (Now you know why Wednesday is spelled that way!)

Woden, also known as Odin, is a significant deity in Anglo-Saxon and Germanic mythology, revered as the god of war, wisdom, and poetry.

That comes before Tuzdee or Mondee. Turzdee is after and Fraydee is the beginning of the weekend.
Weekend is pronounced normally here.

The other day was Too-EZ-day! I do prefer Wed-NEZ-day, simply because it is a day off work for me :D
