That is true.Majority of the people here are devoted Catholics.

Uhmm...In Mindanao, there are a lot of Islams and most of them are Christians already but they don't profess it publicly coz they might get murdered by their clan if they find out that they have converted into Christianity.

more likely :

Joh 12:42 Yet many people, even some of the authorities, believed in him, but because of the Pharisees they did not admit it so they would not be thrown out of the synagogue.
Joh 12:43 For they loved the praise of human beings more than the praise of God.

That's awful. I know it's really dangerous in some of the Islands with the radical muslims. I may check with a few ministries there to see if any help is needed. It's either the PI or Africa by the looks of it.

Ty JC but I haven't decided for sure if the PI is where I will be going. It's really up to the Lord. I won't be able to go for awhile because I'm going to be self funded and I don't have the resources yet.

LOL . . . it makes no wonder if men from foreign land ended up marrying a filiipina when they visit here or do some job/vacation, 'cause

one thing that makes them fall for a Filipina is , aside from they are 'beautiful' (as said by donkeyfish07) is that they are Hospitable - in

general, filipinos are actually known for being hospitability . . .

thumbs up! i know lots of foreign missionaries who married filipina. and they both happy living together..

Thank you :). If anyone knows any ministries that need extra help, let me know.

What type of ministry work are you looking forward to, Donkey? I knew of a ministry with an advocacy on improving literacy and learning development in one of the remote areas in the Visayas region in the country. The founder is a friend of a friend of mine, and is constantly looking for sponsorship of students. From offering pre-school with use of Christian Education curriculum, they have extended to Out-of-School youth and Children with Special needs. You may check their facebook page - Awagoh Learning and Development Center. The school year is about to end, and i'm sure there would be lots of children/students who will be needing support in the next enrollment.

It's one of the ministries i'm eyeing to support, too, this next school year. Thought, there's another one i know, initiated by a good friend of mine, with a cost of $3.00, you could already support 1 child to foundational school-learning. :-)

It isn't dangerous in too many places is it? Why are so many American missionaries leaving?

Hmmm. I guess because they already have done their task and leaving behind the responsibility to filipinos to continue to share the gospel. I'm not so sure with this though, it's what i often hear from pastors. Or they are looking for other places to teach people about Jesus especially those areas wherein they restrict Christianity.
