Yeah, I understand about the stress aspect. Never did drugs though or smoke pot. I am a recent reformed smoker having quit last year.its more likely the teachers smoking from all the stress than the students

We honor the deceased through our cherished memories of them...I miss my grandma. I remember her more when Easter comes around. She
was Catholic so she would have gone to church today for Ash Wednesday.![]()
I was born and raised a Catholic but no longer attend mass. I understand about Ash Wednesday. Growing up I always enjoyed Easter. My parents made me give up candy for Lent but on Easter Sunday it was like Halloween. Grandma must've made quite an impression since you miss her. My last grandparent died in 1977. Our souls are indeed precious to God.The more I think on it, the sadder I become about it, knowing how precious our souls are to God.

Easter was awesome. She was the only grandparent I knew as the other three had passed before I was born. I was very close to her. I'm not Catholic anymore but sometimes I do miss some of the traditions and songs. I am not a fan of the concert type worship services most Christian churches have nowadays.
I would leave soda or candy for Lent haha. Easter was always super fun!
Thank you so much, Ms Simple SheepOh Magenta, thank you so much for sharing this with me. I think the Lord is using it to tell me to go speak to my own dad. I'm not 100% sure he's a true believer and he is dying right now from lung cancer. I am not close to him...so pray that I can have the guts and words to speak to him sometime soon about this.
It is very sad about your daughter's grandfather and dad.I hope that you and your daughter are okay.
Thank you so much, Ms Simple SheepMy daughter is of course sad, bearing this loss so close to her own dad's passing, which was a shock to her. I was not very close to the grandfather; it could be said that very few were, but my daughter did live with him for maybe the last sixteen years? Along with her dad... who had moved back into the family home around '04 as his mother slipped deeper into the depths of dementia. He was her primary care giver until she passed in '10, and they stayed on looking after his dad, who was in his late eighties by then. My daughter's only paternal aunt came and went and came and went and then finally moved in with them, too
After she retired. So now it is just my daughter and her aunt, with their two dogs and three cats. We had Christmas dinner like that while grand dad was in the hospital, for the first time since her dad had passed. It was quite different. I was there for Thanksgiving dinner also, and grand dad joined us at the dining room table. He was not very mobile
Definitely showing the ravages of age but still sharp in mind and inquiring after my own health.
But as to your dad, yes, by all means, if you are going to see him before he departs
this world, I pray you find the words to say with hope that he belongs to Jesus.
I gave up smoking but still have serious cravings. I will take your counsel and ask God to have that spirit of nicotine to go into the Abyss and not return. Just reading the concern in your post has already blessed me. God bless you.Hey Tourist I’m just listening to Derek Prince on Youtube and he is talking about how we can tell demons to get out of us in the Name of Jesus. He said there is a Spirit of nicotine addiction so I thought it may be helpful for you.
You could tell it to go in Jesus Name and tell it to go into the Abyss and not return. Then ask God to fill you with His Spirit and replace what has gone.
I hope this blesses you.![]()
I will watch this video on my next day off on Thursday so I can give it the necessary attention. Thank you.

question for tourist or any former/lapsed catholics...
Do catholics confess things only at midnight? I just wondered where the midnight mass/confession thing came from.
oh okSo many people like to behave as if they are one step away from sinless perfection...it's a persona they put on when around other Christians.
Oh most readily admit that they were once sinners but now are not...as if that was true. The truth is that we all continue to sin and that the only reason we get to go to heaven at all is because of Jesus.
But Midnight Confessions are so nobody else will know that you have anything to confess.
