Honestly, if ones heart is yearning to celebrate, draw near, and bring honor and glory by getting onboard with the traditions and rituals, I can not find fault. The laws we need to honor, to show Him Him honor, though, are the ones that show Christ in our hearts for God and our neighbors, just as Jesus, the Messiah, told us.OK, what's with the disdain being shown toward Jewish rituals? Don't we all have different ways of showing our devotion to God? In Romans 14-15, basically the same issue is being addressed. Jewish converts to Christianity are feeling they should hold to the Jewish rituals, while Gentiles are deriding them for doing so.
Romans 14:6: He who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, does so for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who eats not, for the Lord he does not eat, and gives thanks to God.
In like manner, if someone such as Rheod would want to serve God by taking part in the Jewish traditions, why should she be prevented?
Hey I am considering becoming a Messianic Jew I was just wondering if anyone on here knew where I could start
I need for someone to clarify what Jews for Christian believe about salvation?

Lol. The original poster of this thread, if he became a Messianic Jew, is probably a rabbi by now. That was 7 years ago. This may also be of help. I realize this is a zombie thread however, there may be those who have arrived as new members who seek answers of this nature. God bless.

What Is Messianic Judaism?
Messianic Judaism is the name given to New Covenant faith in Yeshua (Jesus) as Messiah by those who are of Jewish heritage. It also invites into fellowship Gentiles who are called to embrace an expression of faith in Yeshua in a Jewish communal context. One of the most disconcerting things about the separation that has grown between Christianity and Judaism is the belief by Jewish people that Jesus contradicts and opposes Judaism. On the contrary, Yeshua Himself was Jewish, as were most of His first followers and disciples.
Yeshua is the Messiah of the Jewish People. Messianic Judaism is an expression of faith in Yeshua that combines the lifestyle and heritage of Judaism with the New Covenant teachings of Jesus as the only provision for salvation from sin and God’s New Covenant prophesied in Jeremiah 31.
In the early days of the Jesus Movement of the 1960’s and 70’s, young people came to faith in Yeshua by the thousands. Among them were many Jewish youth who were also mostly secular and far away from their Jewish heritage and family faith. There were not many Jewish people in Christian churches that were estranged from their Jewish heritage and identity. Though there have been Jewish believers in Yeshua from the beginning of Jesus’ ministry, a reinvigorated Messianic Judaism emerged in order to embrace the heritage and Jewish roots of new Jewish Believers. Messianic Judaism allowed them to preserve their Jewish identity and grow in their New Covenant faith in Yeshua. Continues Here
Who are Messianic Jews?
Messianic Jews are Jewish in heritage and believe Yeshua (Jesus) is the Messiah promised in the Hebrew Scriptures. Other terms have been used for Jewish People who have placed their faith in Yeshua including “Hebrew Christian” and “Jewish Believer.”
Jesus Himself was Jewish and the New Covenant portrays Him observing Jewish feasts and customs. Yeshua’s first disciples were Jewish, as were the majority of His followers when He was on earth. Continues Here
Do you really think this? Isn't circumcision really just an important ritual and tradition of the law, but still Paul warned against it, for he knew it would bring the believer under the whole of the law? I'm not condeming you, I just wanted to know what your basis is for saying Old Testament traditions and rituals are okay to practice.Honestly, if ones heart is yearning to celebrate, draw near, and bring honor and glory by getting onboard with the traditions and rituals, I can not find fault. I think celebrating passover is fine if you want to but things like giving to the poor, or visiting a lonely shut in person, or working in a food bank for example would show even greater Glory to God, especially, if like you are saying, it is only because of a sincere effort to draw near to the Lord, to bring Glory to Him.

If their profile is set to be alerted to new replies via their registered email, they would then know their post has been responded to. That's if that registered email is still in operation.Well, that was very thoughtful of you.
It's a shame we can't get hold of the OP's email address and email him that we finally have another answer after all this time.![]()

Jesus, you know the guy Christianity is literally founded on, he celebrated PassoverA jew is a people group they are not defined by their rituals and ceremonies, so its impossible to become a Jew we are gentiles.
The reason we dont celebrate passover is cuz it was fulfilled in Christ there was no need to perform those ceremonies anymore cuz while God passed over the isrealites and set them free, it was a just an example and a shadowy picture of the coming death and sacrifice of the Lamb that is Jesus Christ and through His blood we are saved, and from memory the passover lamb for the jews when it happend no bones could be broken on the lamb.
i think luke 22 is where Jesus talks bout fulfilling the passover.
He practised the ceremonies 1 cuz he was part of the jewish culture and thats how they rolled and 2 He hasnt died on the cross yet which is what fulfills the ceremony.
