True; although, the cloak takes away some of the gay-ness. Some of the armored variations of the Robin suit are pretty cool.I believe that you have just described Robin the Boy Wonder.

Lol. Funny topic.Never though of it until I recently found out a lot of other Christians take issues with men wearing tights or skinny fit pants. What is the rational behind the objection, assuming they're worn in a way that adequately covers the bulge. The arguments I've heard so far don't make a lot of sense to me. Usually the arguments seem to suppose this is a modern social rebellion with people saying things like: "They don't have pockets so these guys have to carry stuff in a purse", "Can't be comfortable", and "They're completely impractical so the only reason a guy would wear them is to look gay."
This movie was the first thing I thought of with this topic. Lol. Part of the reason it's funny is these guys were supposed to be tough outlaws, but prancing around like sissies in tights - kind of the opposite image of that which they were supposed to be conveying.
Yeah, I agree! I laughed when I first saw it.What a unique and interesting topic!
Exactly. My view is tights really emphasize the body shape. On a well-formed female figure, this is beautiful. However, even on a well-formed male figure, not - I think the male body is designed for functionality rather than aesthetic appeal. Tights on males end up comical at best - attempting to convey aesthetic appeal, but resulting in a failure due to the male shape. Even if the specifically male features are hidden, it just becomes comical, as why else to wear tights if not to accentuate the body shape?1. Many times if men wear skinny pants, it's assumed they're gay (I guess they're kind of seen as the male version of tights, like in ballet? And there seems to be a presumption that men who wear such things do so to show off their physiques to other men.)
Yes! Even without loss of control, I think it's still unpleasant. I'm obviously biased, but when I've watched male ballerinas in tights, it detracts from the performance. The smooth aerodynamic shape of the women focuses the observer on the dance itself, but with the male, the focus is too often interrupted by the encumbering male features - too many such interruptions, and realising the cause of these makes for somewhat awkward comedy.2. In the female circles I've been in, men in tight pants are considered to be a bit... obscene. The women I've been around would be afraid of a guy, uh, having a moment of loss of control, and no one wants to see that in public.
Yes. I agree. However, bikinis were once viewed in the same way. This said, I think most would agree that a bikini on a well-formed female looks nice (even if too revealing, for which I believe there are valid arguments). I don't think the same could ever be said for a similar item of clothing worn by a well-formed man - it would just be repulsive. But I'm not one to wear tight clothes as a woman, and the women I'm around don't think anyone of either gender should be wearing particularly tight clothes, as they can show off the contours of both the male and female body a bit too much. Some women I know consider tight pants on a man to be an immodest way of dressing.

1. I use a fanny pack because pockets, unless I have more than two aren't enough anyway in my case, guys have always carried satchels and totes since forever, also I don't bother to add pockets when I make work pants because they're extra work to put in.

3.I can think of a few reasons, costuming obviously, under pants in the cold since footed tights don't ride up, jogging, ballet and dance.
So what's the deal, why do so many people take moral issues with tights/hose/tight pants. Thoughts?
Tights, or technically hose were standard menswear at the time that movie is set.Lol. Funny topic.

Yeah, some guys stress a lot how they like for women to wear tight clothes but it doesn't look good on a man. Well... It doesn't look very good on women either. It's a big distraction regardless of gender. Nobody needs to see that.I attended a Christmas concert this past year at my sister's church. One of the performers was a worship pastor. He came onto the platform wearing stretchy skinny pants. It looked terrible. He is a bigger man and those pants showed everything that he has. I had a hard time to concentrate on the song that he was singing. It was such a distraction. Women tend to wear things that are not appropriate in public as well. So, it's not really a gender issue. It's more of a poor taste in fashion issue.
yeah, make the standards roughly the same for each gender, I wonder if part of the reason tights are a no-no today might be simply that modern tights can be worn exactly like pants with a regular length shirt, showing one's but and upper thighs, wereas in the middle ages it was normal to be worn with a tunic that at least covered the upper portion of the thigh and above? That and people aren't used to seeing men wearing such things?Yeah, some guys stress a lot how they like for women to wear tight clothes but it doesn't look good on a man. Well... And if a person thinks "Yes I do want to see that" is that the kind of person you really want to cater to?
I just remembered tights and hosiery have health benefits in the circulation department handy if you've got to stand in one place all day, there's even versions requiring a prescription. For other people, I don't care. They can wear what they want. They can also eat McDonald's for three meals a day, chain smoke, watch soap operas and do all kinds of other things I think are not a very good idea. As long as they don't try to say I should do those things, I don't care. (Okay I don't really care if they DO say I should do those things...)

I don't think most would have a problem with the images you showed, other than exhibit 4 on the top line, and exhibit 2 on the bottom, as outer tunics or something provided additional covering.Tights, or technically hose were standard menswear at the time that movie is set.

I think these ones are probably comparable to the ultra-short skirts some women wear these days?
In those days, eunuchs were also more of a thing, so I guess the aforementioned exhibits might've been worn by eunuchs without causing undue alarm? Unless I'm mistaken, codpieces also were a fashion feature in bygone centuries, so perhaps men who wanted to wear the ultra-short tunics in 4 and 2 could get away with doing so by also employing the services of a suitably matching codpiece?

so much for judge not lest yea be judged. Ever hear of gymnastics? You can wear tights as they were made for...under clothes.
Or, you can let it all hang out & sin with the world.
Sure, they will watch you, but not because you're a christian.
Merino wool long johns under green jeans today worked well for staying warm on this chilly and very windy day.
If it threatens rain, I've made a pair of light shell, roomy rain waxed pants. They are very breathable and better than gortex IMHO. I should sell various sizes late summer for Fall use. They have just enough stretch for stepping over logs, climbing with tree stands and doing high kicks.
Sure... have you ever heard of going to the gym to watch hot women in tights? You don't have to go there to do that, if one is there she will tempt you.so much for judge not lest yea be judged. Ever hear of gymnastics?
Still judging I see, the topic is men in tights, not women.Sure... have you ever heard of going to the gym to watch hot women in tights? You don't have to go there to do that, if one is there she will tempt you.

Sounds about right with what I've heard, seems most people only start to care when the the portion of the leg about halfway up past the knee is visible.I don't think most would have a problem with the images you showed, other than exhibit 4 on the top line, and exhibit 2 on the bottom, as outer tunics or something provided additional covering.
