I used to love playing board games, cards, and Charades growing up. There are so many today, lots of new ones we never had but look good.

Monopoly was my favourite. Christmas we got one game to play in our family. I also liked chess, but I never won because I couldn't strategise.

What games did you all play? Even had an Atari and played space invaders...plus I had roller skates made of metal 😁

I also played hangman and Ludo. And snakes and ladders. I wonder if our world leaders were just to play board games instead of fighting crazy wars, would we all be in a better place.?

I have to say that's pretty impressive photoshopping in that picture.

We had sorry and candyland when I was a kid. Yes both are names of board games. And we played the everliving stuffing out of uno.

Monopoly, Sorry, and Aggravation were favorites of mine.
I would play the Life board game if that's all that was available. I didn't care for the fact you had to get married and have kids ( I was young and didn't want to think about that ). Rummy was my favorite card game.

I actually developed my rental property plan from playing monopoly. When playing the game, it seemed a better strategy to buy the cheap properties on the first row. Nobody wanted those. As soon as people passed GO and collected their $200, they landed on one of my properties, and I got paid.
But you didn't have worry about people tearing your property up in the game. I got out of the rental property business after about three years. Too many late night problems etc...

The original Atari was my favorite followed closely by my Coleco-Vision. The Coleco had some great games but I don't think that company lasted but a year or two after releasing their game system.

StarFox was my favorite on the Nintendo 64. That was about as advanced as I got with video games.

Quote from a six year old girl:

Mommy do I HAVE to fall in love when I grow up?

Well no, dear, I guess you don't really have to...

Good. I got stuff to do.

The original Atari was my favorite followed closely by my Coleco-Vision.
Quote from BagOSquirrels, once a regular in the CC live chat rooms:

I remember when I saw my first video game. A low table showed up in the corner of the bar one night. All the guys tried Pac Man out, but most of us didn't really think it was all that great. But a couple fellas went out and bought the home console... And we never saw those guys again!

Moondancer are you being nostlgic for your lost youth or something.

I played cards, chinese checkers, ludo, monopoly (which I hated) and this board game called Holiday, that was my favourite. You went round a board on Holiday in Australia which we never did as a family in real life.

I like word games now like Scrabble and Taboo

I dont know about world leaders playing board games but they do inhabit Board Rooms where they play at having meetings, and lots of them go to the casino on their days off. Or they play golf, because they can afford to.

Does anyone here actually aspire to be a world leader? It doesnt look like much fun. World leaders actually dont fight, they just send others to fight for them, like armies and Some of them probably have toy soldiers and trainsets in their basements.
