Wo, I guess I have rendered all the respect you have earned. Why not chill out yourself and stop with all the jargon. You say you speak English yet you do not use propriety in you speech.
I know the majority of Canadians speak much better English than do I. They do understand when peple post in the forums, and when they have a quesstion it is not usualladressed to an entire post rather to where there is a quesstion. Where is the jargon in "Do you think that bad ideas should be mocked / ridiculed"? It really is a simple, straightforward question.

As a child I thought like a child, and sometimes that meant "bad ideas"...
LOTS of them.
I'm so glad that my parents didn't sit there and mock and ridicule my bad ideas just because they were foolish ideas.

Other than scriptures talking about encouraging or exhorting others and perhaps even verses in Proverbs about 2 being better than 1 and 3 also being awesome I can't think of anything specific but I'll think on it.
I also have the same feeling. I'm actually surprised you hear Christian talk show hosts do that, because only the "almost" Christian in name onlys on the big talk shows hardly do that.
Maybe you are talking about minor examples though?
I feel like we are all connected (spiritually also) and with this day in age of technology, it's doubly unwise. Even 5 years down the road when a person moves past that, it's still there.
I definitely keep it to myself but I also don't even like the thoughts themselves, they make me uncomfortable. It's hard to explain and I'll have to post about it a bit later to try and be succinct but think back to children laughing at flatulence or burping etc. what's the motivation? Is it because it's actually funny or the discomfort manifests as humor? Probably mostly the former with a tiny bit of the latter for children.
What about other things you laughed about as a child that would be completely inappropriate today? Like a person being made a certain way? Probably mostly the latter and a tiny bit the former (funny/discomfort).
I don't think pointing out genuine absurdity in a persons behavior is unreasonable so long as it is qualified with a productive reasoning but that is pretty narrow.
I also don't think that learning to laugh at yourself is unreasonable and there is a Godly way to laugh at someone but it's just pretty rare. Just the way some people are made gives me a "giggle" of sorts. Or animals...like God making a Giraffe for instance. Or the look that Llamas have. It's funny but not like "making fun" per se.
The spirit behind the humor is what I focus on...it's sort of a fun thing to analyze.

It's just another way to attack the idea with which you disagree. Admittedly it is a wildly popular method, but I have never seen it used with very good effect. It is certainly an ungainly way to attack an idea.
Also using this method to attack an idea invariably shuts down any profitable discussion the people involved might have had about the subject. Using ridicule always terminates any hope that anything can be accomplished here.

well, I havent come across that many ppl (adults) who believe the earth is flat, though my Bible study teacher said her sister believed this. And she was like my parents age, so, you know, someone in her 60s or 70s.
I was like huh. I dont know what she got taught in school?! I was a bit concerned, so the next Bible study I bought along a book of NASA photographs from space showing the earth was a globe. I said to her you can borrow this book and look at the amazing photos, and show it to your sister.

Actually I dont have that book anymore Maybe I said she could keep the book. I got from op shop. But can always go to the library to find out stuff.

I disagree with your comment that "using ridicule always terminates..." - I think that in some cases there should not be further discussion with some people on some topics. People espousing racist, misogynistic, bigoted views, etc should probably be ridiculed and shunned by as many people as possible in order to apply maximum pressure. I understand that if someone makes a comment that is mildly offensive, yes, a gentle correction would be the best course of action. But if someone was to unapologetically suggest that women are of less value than men or should not exercise their right of bodily autonomy - ridicule and lots of it should be applied. Oh, and obviously, flat earthers
