Living in an ivory tower sounds nice, but obtaining a PhD to stay single seems like to much work.

A nap a day, keeps the marriage away?!?!

Yea being a genius isnt all that
you could boast 'I am too smart to get married'
or just say Im already engaged to be with the Lord
most men will run a mile when you say that as they dont want to compete with Jesus, though some will try (sorry I'm speaking for ladies here)

otherwise you could go the ugly route and make yourself look terrifying...like godzilla here
stop brushing your teeth, wear track pants, become a hermit, and play video games all day using up all the electricity
dedicate yourself to art ....or just travel from place to place like a lost soul enjoying your own company

What is actually in your lounges?

In the olden days people called them 'sitting rooms' or 'parlours' or even if fancier and richer 'salons'

There was no 'open plan' living or things like Indoor and Outdoor flow.

Is a lounge just a place where you can sprawl out all over the carpet.

In the US, I noticed people call rooms 'dens' or 'rumpus room'

in nz we have 'sleepouts' and a lounge is usually called a ' living room'. It inevitably has a tv instead of the old fashioned fireplaces, which are now kind of banned since people were either burning them too much causing pollution or accidentally burning down their houses.

Though there might be the odd strict christian family who does not have a tv, most seem to have them, some several in each room. I have been to a few where some christians actually complained that their friends wouldnt let them watch tv while they were visiting them.

Hey Lanolin, did you get acquainted with the word rumpus room from the book "Where the Wild Things Are"?

I had never even heard of the word before. I read it's a term first seen in the 18th century. Some americans used the term in the 50s and 60s but has gone out of usage. It may be regional. I've heard the terms playroom for children's playroom, or rec room for recreational rooms, but never rumpus room.

Maybe the american children's TV show Romper Room got their name from rumpus room.
