No, the haka is traditionally something only boys do...
girls can sing though and twirl poi but...Im not in any culture group to do so.
Isn’t the Hakka a traditional Māori thing to do . Do the Anglo Saxon section of community also do it ?

the story of the haka is that its a traditional war dance of victory when a chief hid from his enemies on the warpath in a kumara pit. Everyone thought he was dead but he came out of it alive.
Lol I am sure behind doors the whole people still call themselves Anglo Saxon ! I just asked the three NZer here at work and none have heard of the word pakeha!

native nzers generally call themselves kiwis, even though we arent really birds.
Pakeha is just a name maori call non maori. Maori just means 'ordinary' or 'normal'. Nobody I know calls themselves anglo-saxon. If they are british its english generally or otherwise identifiy themselves as irish or welsh or scots.
If they cant figure out what they are generally people say they are european as a catch all

if you arent maori and married to maori you are generally known as pakeha. The haka is performed in Maori language so its not going to be translated into english. I dont think it would be the same if it was.

The trout stamp is what costs so much.
It was $50+.
And there's two kinds of fishing I have yet to do....salmon and deep sea. Always wanted to...never been. When the king salmon or steelhead are running its supposed to be awesome. You have to go chasing that thing for a while when you hook one. Strong fish!
And if that ranger catches you fishing without a license the ticket is so bad that you will wish you had paid for the lifetime license. That's no joke. And I plan on fishing near the ranger station in Caney Fork. Great trout area.
I don't mind fishing licenses so much...it's also a general hunting license too. So if I wanted to get a deer, I could.

When you said twirl poi, I was thinking about the purple food, that Hawaiian's normally eat.
I tried it one time. Do New Zealanders eat poi also, or is that just a Hawaiian thing?
I went salmon fishing one time, but didn't catch anything. Never really was into fishing, but liked the boat ride on the river, and the music cranked up. lol My cousin caught salmon and I didn't want anything to do with it. lol This was a long time ago, before I was vegan.
Not sure about deer meet, but buffalo burgers are great.
How much is the fine, if your caught fishing without a license? This is ridiculous.

The fine is a around $500 and the "court costs" are around $1400. But there ain't much to the "court"....you don't see the judge...if you actually try to and lose its even more$$$$.
Now how the States spends the money from licenses is up to the individual states...Tennessee is different in that the state constitution requires that the different venues of receipts of money keep the money received. For example all state taxes on gasoline must be spent on roads and highway maintenance. We got nice roads and highways.
So fishing and hunting license fees here are spent on stocking fish, building boat ramps, access points for fishermen and hunting. And campgrounds for doing so. All state built...except for what the Federal Government builds. We have a lot of outdoor parks and waterways and sportsman areas. They are very convenient and easy access to use. Some get very crowded but there are plenty so I just go down the road and hit the unused ones.
When I get to retirement age...I don't need any licenses anymore...my proof of residency and age is it. A drivers license is sufficient.

I just follow them, join in tags (which we link to each others blogs and stuff so new comers can find us), like their posts (vice versa), talk/hang out online, volunteer to promote their works, beta read (and point out inconsistencies in their prose/plotline)... I know, that's a lot
And it's great because they help me out a lot too. Long story short, I'm a children's writer, and when I started my official writer's blog back in March, I worked on building connections with other writers (some, I've been following for the past couple years. Others are new faces that I've met during the networking phase.) I should leave my web link in my profile actually (been meaning to do that, but I keep forgetting lol.)
And yesterday brought out a new development...
We discovered that the landlord's real estate agent is, and has been. Best friends with the mayor for a very long time.
Meaning that they are going to ensure our permits get shoved through the system quickly.
And that the city fathers have been wanting and discussing how to get a bakery for their city. IOW they are going to promote us to no end. (Free Marketing) Complete with write ups in the paper and everything.
Ugggghhhhh.....
I'm going to have to hire help. A lot of help. I just wanted a retirement job...this is beginning to smell a lot like work.
I got a batch of bread in the fridge now autolizing.
Gotta get another one going tomorrow for a Saturday tasting.
I'm going to be so freaking busy it's going to be nuts.

Sounds like Tennessee is a well managed state. They actually use taxes efficiently. Do you like living in Tennessee?

That's pretty cool that you are a writer, you don't hear that every day. What steered you into that career path?
