It is not possible to lose salvation. There are many verses and passages that teach eternal security.
However, there 2 verses that when put together, prove that salvation cannot be lost.
John 5:24 - “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.
Key points:
1. Those who hear and believe (the gospel) "has eternal life". This means POSSESSES eternal life. So, all who believe have it.
2. Believers "will not be judged"
3. Believers "have crossed over from (spiritual) death to (eternal) life.
John 10:28 - I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.
Key points:
1. Jesus Christ is the Giver of the gift of eternal life.
2. The result of being given (possession) of eternal life is to "never perish".
3. The "no one" can be rendered "no person", so that even includes the believer him/herself.
So, eternal life is a present tense possession for those who believe.
Those who possess eternal life shall never perish.
Jesus wasn't kidding.
First, it seems that you don't believe what Jesus said in John 10:28. And He was real clear. Those He gives eternal life shall never perish.
So let's NOT try to pit Scripture against itself. No verse contradicts any other verse. So, OBVIOUSLY, you misunderstand Rev 2:5.
Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.
So, what does "lampstand" refer to? It refers to the church. The 'angel' refers to the pastor of the church. There were 7 golden lamp stands, and that refers to the 7 churches that Jesus told John to write to.
That verse has nothing to do with losing salvation, but loss of the church. iow, Jesus can shut down churches.
I marvel that anyone would read John 10:28 and still think that a believer can lose salvation.
