I like to try my hand in the kitchen once in awhile. Made my first apple crisp yesterday, and it came out pretty heavenly if I may say so! For that, I only modified someone else's recipe...

However, a few weeks ago I got up way too late in the morning and didn't have time to make a very good breakfast. I thought of making a couple fried eggs, but that's hardly something to be enthusiastic about and I needed energy for work. So I decided to do something a little different. Below is what I ended up with, and I was surprised by how good my experiment turned out!

Ingredients: butter (optional), eggs, lime, ground ginger, plain uncooked oatmeal.

1) Grease a pan or skillet with butter.
2) Crack eggs into heated pan or skillet (I just made two).
3) Cut a lime in quarters.
4) As the eggs are beginning to fry, sprinkle some plain oatmeal over top.
5) Squeeze 1 quarter slice of lime over the eggs. (1 quarter for two eggs).
6) Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of ground ginger over eggs.
7) When fried on bottom, flip eggs over and repeat steps five and six.
8) Remove from heat, put on a plate, and enjoy!

Note: For some reason, it has a strange smell while frying, so don't make these eggs if you or your family have sensitive noses! :) I also found it to be just as good without adding the oatmeal, so you can leave that out if you like.

I'll try this tomorrow but I wonder if I can use lemon instead of lime...hmmm...can I replace lime with lemon? But anyway I'll try first... :)

@sweetmorningdew78 I'm sure a lemon would taste good, too. My local market simply had a good deal on limes, so I had some on hand. They work good for giving your home a fresh smell, too!

@blue_ladybug If you like "sweet and sour" food, you will probably like this. Think of lemon chicken.

@tourist The only oranges that I like are juice oranges that actually taste like orange juice. Otherwise, forget that idea! :) Grapefruit might work, but I've never heard of someone cooking with grapefruit juice really... I don't think it would be as good.

Oh, I love sweet and sour stuff. :) But fried eggs taste vastly different than lemon chicken..lol

Well, yes, fried eggs definitely taste different than chicken! :D However, there's still that savory taste that doesn't go too badly with something a little citrus-y. I think the ginger helps to balance out the flavor some.

The oatmeal really does little at all, so you can ignore it if you want. I just included it because that's how I did it the first time. But the next time I made it, I didn't bother.

Sorry :) 'haven't tried yet :D tomorrow for sure by the grace of God :)

I'll let you know tomorrow :D I love to experiment with food wait for me :D tomorrow I'll make this for my breakfast :)

I tried it already yay not bad :) and for me the smell is good actually the combination of lemon and ginger smell but I know not all people love the smell of ginger :D and I conclude that lime fits better in this recipe the smell and taste would be more pleasant.

I like it ❤
