“How do you understand the prophecy of Isaiah 61 being fulfilled?”
It’s a reference to the gospel Jesus would preach when he came. But it’s just what he said when he read Isaiah 61 out loud ….
“And there was delivered unto him the
book of the prophet Isaiah. And when he had opened the book,
he found the place where it was written, ( Isaiah 61)
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
And he said unto them,
I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.”
Luke 4:17-21, 43 KJV
I understand it that it began being fulfilled just like he said there and led to what it said here everyone still sees what happened then even today in the scripture it’s still a witness of Christ
“For
I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and
I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
And
their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that
they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed. For
as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.”
Isaiah 61:8-9, 11 KJV
how many have been converted because of thier witness and glory because God was with them ?
Isaiah 61 is about the gospel being preached by Jesus to Israel , and the remnant which believed sent out to all the world to witness the gospel in that same generation ….notice scripture ends with the death of the apostles but everyone always held it as sacred and preserved thier words
that generation was special see there in isaiah 61 you mention this part of the prophecy ?
“But
ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.”
Isaiah 61:6 KJV
Notice revelation here
“The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which
God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth.
Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.”
Revelation 1:1, 5-6, 9
and here
“And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me,
These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore are they before the throne of God, ( Gods throne is in heaven )
and serve him day and night in his temple: ( priests do that ) and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.”
Revelation 7:14-17 KJV
John was giving them hope from God to keep to the faith in the terrible times they faced and would face ahead his message was stay in the lord even if they kill you for it
“
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write,
Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.”
Revelation 14:12-13 KJV
They would soon be faced with Nero’s slaughter who’s name by the way adds up to the number 666 in some numerical form they used in those times of John
who was behind the burning of rome and then following g blaming of Jews and Christian’s for it ordering the state sponsored persecutions of Christian’s
theres things in the Bible that haven’t happened but we find them in the new testement prophecy given to all people and not the ot prophecy given to israel only
now im not saying the ot doesn’t mention the end of the new I’m saying each testament has its own prophetic design and it correlates to the coming of the messiah promised in that covenant
this coming to israel
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
Isaiah 7:14 KJV
“For
unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, ( at gods right hand in heaven see act as chapter 2:29-36)
and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
The Lord sent a word into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel.”
Isaiah 9:6
thats already happened he already came another thing that happened because of it was this
“But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son. But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance. When the Lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen? They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons. Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.”
Matthew 21:37-38, 40-41, 43 KJV
“But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.”
Matthew 22:7
“And after threescore and two weeks shall
Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: ( Jesus crucified for the people )
and
the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; ( rome 70 ad what Jesus is warnkng them of who are listening to him )
and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and
unto the end of the war desolations are determined.”
Daniel 9:26 KJV
“And
when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Then let them which are in Judæa flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.”
Luke 21:20-22
“When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand

then let them which be in Judæa flee into the mountains: for then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.”
Matthew 24:15-16, 21-22 KJV
theres a lot about Jesus second coming too that’s what we’re looking for the ot is about the first coming of Jesus to earth the nt is about his return from heaven two testaments two prophetic lines within each testament based on two appearances of Jesus one as a lamb to be sacrificed the second as a lion in victory and power
